Career In 2015, Yassen beat fellow countryman and former professional Mohamed Khairy 6–5 in the final of the African Championship. The win gained him a two-year card on the World Snooker Tour for the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons. He lost all six matches he played during the season and failed to pick up a frame in four of them. The World Snooker Championship is the longest-running and most prestigious tournament in professional snooker. China Open (snooker)
The China Open is a professional snooker tournament. It is one of a number of Snooker world rankings, ranking tournaments and began in 1997. The reigning champion is Neil Robertson. History The first international snooker tournament in China was the China International in September 1997, a non-ranking tournament for the top 16 players and local players. The following season the tournament became ranking and was held in March. Then the name of the event was changed to China Open and was held in December, so there were two events in 1999. After the 2002 tournament the event was abandoned. The event was revived for the Snooker season 2004/2005, 2004/05 season. Local wild-card players were invited to play against the qualifiers. History After the establishment of the Players Tour Championship, the Players Tour Championship Finals was first held in 2011 at The Helix in Dublin, between the top 24 players of the Order of Merit, who played at least 6 events; 3 in Sheffield and 3 in mainland Europe. The Welsh Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament that has been held annually since 1992. It replaced the Welsh Professional Championship, which ran annually from 1980 to 1991 and was open only to Welsh players. The Welsh Open is now the longest running ranking event after the World Championship and the UK Championship. Since the 2016–17 season, it has been one of four tournaments in the Home Nations Series, alongside the Northern Ireland Open, the Scottish Open, and the English Open. The German Masters is a professional ranking snooker tournament held at the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany since 2011. The 2021 event was held at Milton Keynes in England because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Zhao Xintong is the reigning champion, having won the event in 2022. The Scottish Open is a ranking professional snooker tournament held in the United Kingdom. The tournament had many name changes in its history, as the tournament was formerly called International Open, Matchroom Trophy and Players Championship. Apart from a hiatus in the 1990/1991 and 1991/1992 seasons, the tournament remained a ranking event until 2003/2004.
