Hassan Yunus
Hassan Yunus ( ms, حسن بن يونس, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 1907 – 12 July 1968) was the State Mufti serving from 1941 to 1947 and Menteri Besar serving from 1959 to 1967 of Johor, Malaysia. He was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of Barisan Nasional (formerly Alliance Party) coalition. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. The United Malays National Organisation (Malay: ; Jawi: ; abbreviated UMNO () or less commonly PEKEMBAR), is a nationalist right-wing political party in Malaysia. As the oldest continuous national political party within Malaysia (since its inception in 1946), UMNO has once been called Malaysia's "Grand Old Party". Modelled on its British predecessor, the orders, decorations, and medals of Malaysia were created after formation of Malaysia. The honour system came to exist earlier during Federation of Malaya. During the British colonial times, honours were given under the British honour system. Johor was the first state to institute its own honours on 31 July 1880. Then, the other Malay states did the same. The monarch is regarded as the fount of all honours—as he is the only person who may create new national honours—and acts as the Sovereign of all of Malaysia's orders; he will conduct inductions or present medals. The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats. The Barisan Nasional coalition employs the same inter-communal governing model of its predecessor the Alliance Party but on a wider scale, with up to 14 communal political parties involved in the coalition at one point. A Mufti (; ar, مفتي) is an Islamic jurist qualified to issue a nonbinding opinion ('' fatwa'') on a point of Islamic law (''sharia''). The act of issuing fatwas is called ''iftāʾ''. Muftis and their ''fatwas'' played an important role throughout Islamic history, taking on new roles in the modern era. Jawi (; ace, Jawoë; Kelantan-Pattani: ''Yawi''; ) is a writing system used for writing several languages of Southeast Asia, such as Acehnese, Banjarese, Kerinci, Maguindanaon, Malay, Minangkabau, Tausūg, and Ternate. Jawi is based on the Arabic script, consisting of all of the original 31 Arabic letters, and six additional letters constructed to fit the phonemes native to Malay, and an additional phoneme used in foreign loanwords, but not found in Classical Arabic, which are ''ca'' ( ), ''nga'' ( ), ''pa'' ( ), ''ga'' ( ), ''va'' ( ), and ''nya'' ( ). Alwi Bin Thahir Al-Haddad
Alwi bin Thahir al-Haddad ( ar-at, علوي بن طاهر الحداد, ʻAlwī bin Ṭāhir al-Ḥaddād, ; 14 Shawwal 1301 AH – 1382H or August 6, 1884 CE – November 14, 1962 CE) was an Islamic scholar known as the Mufti of Johor in twentieth century and also the co-founder of Jamiat Kheir and Al-Rabithah al-Alawiyyah foundations in Batavia during colonial Dutch East Indies. History ʻAlwī bin Ṭāhir al-Ḥaddād was born in Qaydun, Hadhramaut, Yemen on August 7, 1884 CE ( 14 Shawwal 1301 AH). His surname ''al-Ḥaddād'' is one of the family names in Ba'Alawi sadah. The first Ba'Alawi to acquire the name al-Haddad (''The Ironsmith'') was Sayyid Ahmad, son of Abu Bakr. This sayyid, who lived in the ninth century of the Hijra (15th century in Gregorian calendar) was an 'alim who used to spend much of his time sitting at an ironsmith's shop in Tarim.
