Hashim Aman
Hashim bin Aman (1 September 1929 – 21 May 2018) was a Malaysian civil servant who served as the 7th Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia from 1980 to 1984. Early life and education He was born on 1 September 1929 in Kampung Chembong, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. He received his education at King George V Secondary School, Seremban, before furthering his studies at the University of Malaya, Singapore, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1957. Career Hashim had served in the government sector for 27 years, in various public departments and agencies, including as Secretary General of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defense, and as Director General of the Public Service Department before being appointed to the position of Secretary General from 1982 to 1984. Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah ( Jawi: ; 24 October 1930 – 22 May 2019) was the fifth modern Sultan of Pahang, and also served as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 26 April 1979 to 25 April 1984. His abdication as Sultan was decided by the Royal Council at an extraordinary meeting on 11 January 2019. A special amendment was passed on the state constitution that gave the body more power for this decision, citing the Sultan's incapability to rule due to his failing health. The abdication announced the next day which was retroactively effective on the day of the Royal Council meeting, paving the way to his son, Abdullah to succeed him as Sultan immediately, and subsequently be elected as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong later the same month. 1977 Kelantan Emergency
The 1977 Kelantan Emergency took place in the state of Kelantan in Malaysia. The state of emergency was declared by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Yahya Petra who was also Sultan of Kelantan at the time on 8 November 1977 upon the request of the federal government following a political impasse and street violence in Kelantan. This was the fifth declaration of emergency in Malaya and Malaysia after the 1948-1960 Malayan Emergency, the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation, the 1966 Sarawak constitutional crisis and the 13 May Incident.
