Transdev Sachsen-Anhalt (formerly: ''Veolia Verkehr Sachsen-Anhalt'') is a regional railway company, a subsidiary of Transdev Germany. It provided passenger services on the North Harz network from 2005 to 2018 under the name HEX (''HarzElbeExpress''). History ''Connex Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH'' was founded on 1 July 2004 with its headquarters in Halberstadt, after the responsibility for the public transport services of the North Harz Network (''Nordharz-Netz'') was transferred to Connex Regiobahn in the preceding March by the state of Saxony-Anhalt. 2011 Saxony-Anhalt Train Collision
On 29 January 2011, a freight train and a passenger train Train wreck, collided near Hordorf in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany on the Magdeburg–Thale railway, Magdeburg–Thale line. The passenger train derailment, derailed in the collision. Ten people were killed and 43 people were injured, some of them critically. Oschersleben () is a town in the Börde (district), Börde district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The population in 1905 was 13,271, in 2020 about 19,000. History On November 23, 994 Oschersleben was first mentioned in a document by the Emperor Otto III. In 1235 it was first referred to as a town. In the 17th century most parts of Oschersleben were destroyed by fires. In 1648 it came under Brandenburg's domination. Quedlinburg Station
Quedlinburg station is a station on the Magdeburg–Thale railway in Quedlinburg in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It was built in 1862 as a through station on the southern edge of the town. The Gothic Revival entrance building of 1862, together with the other parts of the nearly complete Gründerzeit ensemble, is heritage-protected. Thale Hauptbahnhof is a station on the Magdeburg–Thale railway in the town of Thale in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The only other station in Thale is the stop at '' Thale Musestieg'', although there used to be three stations in Thale on a branch of the Blankenburg–Quedlinburg railway, which was opened in 1908 and was closed in the 1960s.
