Archery Association Of India
Archery Association of India (AAI) is the national governing body of archery in India. Its headquarters are located in New Delhi, and its current president is Arjun Munda, AAI is a non-profit, government funded organisation affiliated by World Archery Federation (IAF), Asian Archery Federation (AAF) and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and recognized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India. AAI came into existence on 8 August 1973 after archery was reintroduced to the Olympic Games in 1972. It is responsible for organising, promoting and controlling the sport of archery in India. Abhimanyu Sindhu
Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu (born 18 December 1967) is an Indian politician. He was cabinet minister with independent charge of eight departments in the Government of Haryana state in India in the first-ever government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana. He is a former soldier, award-winning newspaper founder editor, entrepreneur, educationist and philanthropist. He was BJP's Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Legislative Assembly of Haryana from Narnaund in Hisar district from 2014 to 2019. He served in the Indian Army for six years where he was decorated with Special Services Medal. The national Indian governing body of archery as a sport in India is the Archery Association of India. Deepika Kumari is the first Indian archer to achieve World Number 1 rank in Women's Individual Recurve. She achieved this feat on 14 June in 2012. She again achieved the feat by reaching #1 rank on 28 June 2021. She has won an individual gold medal in archery at the Archery at the 2010 Commonwealth Games – Women's recurve individual, 2010 Commonwealth Games, beating Olympic bronze medalist Alison Williamson.
