Harvey Rosen
Harvey Rosen was the mayor of the city of Kingston, Ontario, Canada from 2003 to 2010. Early life and education Rosen was born in Kingston in 1949. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from York University in Toronto, and a Bachelor of Law degree from Queen's University in Kingston. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1977. Political career Rosen was elected to the council for the former Kingston Township in 1994, and in 1997 was elected to the Board of Control of the newly amalgamated City of Kingston. He practiced law privately until 2000 when he joined Rosen Corp. Ltd., a family-owned firm which at one point included Rosen Fuels, a fuel-oil company founded by Rosen's father. Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north-eastern end of Lake Ontario, at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River (south end of the Rideau Canal). The city is midway between Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. Kingston is also located nearby the Thousand Islands, a tourist region to the east, and the Prince Edward County tourist region to the west. Sophie Alison Kiwala (born 1962) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2014 to 2018 who represented the riding of Kingston and the Islands. Background Kiwala was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. She moved to Toronto shortly after finishing high school, and took courses at Humber College. In 1986 she married and moved with her husband to Turkey in the 1990s. John Philip Gerretsen (born June 9, 1942) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2014 who represented the eastern Ontario riding of Kingston and the Islands.
