Donna Hartz
Donna Hartz is an Aboriginal Australian midwife, academic and member of the Kamilaroi peoples of north eastern New South Wales. She grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney. Hartz is currently an associate professor of midwifery at Charles Darwin University. Hartz is best known for her work on the "Birthing on Country" project, focused on Aboriginal maternal health. She is an investigator on an NHMRC Partnership Grant, ‘BOOSt: Building on Our Strengths’. Hartz has focused on developing and implementing community-controlled, holistic, continuity of midwifery care models and birth centres. Harris L Hartz (born January 20, 1947) is an American jurist and lawyer who serves as a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Early life and education Hartz was born in 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in Farmington, New Mexico, and graduated from Farmington High School in 1963 as valedictorian. He then studied physics at Harvard University, graduating in 1967 with an A.B. '' summa cum laude''. After college, Hartz received a fellowship to pursue graduate study in physics at Princeton University, but dropped out after one year. Harry Hartz
Harry Hartz (24 December 1896 – 26 September 1974) was an American auto mechanic and race car driver. Career Harry Hartz was born in Pomona, California, and grew up in the Los Angeles area. At age eighteen, he began to drive in support events for the car races of the time. He was a mechanic, but sought to be a race car driver and signed on with the Duesenberg brothers after World War I. Hartz made his debut at the 1921 Indianapolis 500 race as Eddie Hearne's riding mechanic. The following year, Hartz was behind the wheel of the Duesenberg and finished in second place. In 1923, he finished in second place again in a Cliff Durant Special, and placed in fourth position next year. In 1925, he brought his own Miller and finished fourth, and returned the next year with his Miller Special to capture second place. His car had a mechanical failure in 1927. He is the only driver to come in second in the Indianapolis 500 three times, but never to win the race in his six attempts. ... James Leroy Hartz (February 3, 1940 – April 17, 2022) was an American television personality, columnist and reporter during the mid- and late-1970s. At age 24, he was the youngest correspondent NBC had ever hired. Louis Hartz
Louis Hartz (April 8, 1919 – January 20, 1986) was an American political scientist, historian, and a professor at Harvard, where he taught from 1942 until 1974. Hartz’s teaching and various writings —books and articles— have had an important influence on American political theory and comparative history. Early years Hartz was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Russian Jewish immigrants, but grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating from Technical High School in Omaha, he attended Harvard University, financed partly by a scholarship from the ''Omaha World Herald''. Academic career Hartz graduated in 1940, spent a year traveling abroad on a fellowship, and returned to Harvard as a teaching fellow in 1942. Nikolaj Eeg Kruse Hartz (23 August 1867 – 7 May 1937) was a Danish geologist and botanist. He was an important explorer of the flora of Greenland during several expeditions. Biography Hartz was born in Randers, Denmark. He studied botany at the University of Copenhagen. In 1891-1892 he participated in the expedition to Scoresbysund and Tasiilaq led by Carl Ryder (1858-1923). He graduated in 1895 and obtained a Ph.D. in 1909 with a dissertation about the late-glacial flora and fauna of Denmark. From 1896, Hartz was a researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark. In 1900 he participated in the Carlsbergfund Expedition to East Greenland under the leadership of G. C. Amdrup (1866-1947). Peter Hartz (born 9 August 1941 in Sankt Ingbert), was the human resources executive at the German public company Volkswagen AG (VW). Twenty percent of Volkswagen's shares are owned by the state of Lower Saxony. The Hartz concept, also known as Hartz reforms or the Hartz plan, is a set of recommendations submitted by a committee on reforms to the German labour market in 2002. Named after the head of the committee, Peter Hartz, these recommendations went on to become part of the German government's ''Agenda 2010'' series of reforms, known as Hartz I – Hartz IV. The committee devised thirteen "innovation modules", which recommended changes to the German labour market system. These were then gradually put into practice: The measures of Hartz I – III were undertaken between 1 January 2003, and 2004, while Hartz IV was implemented on 1 January 2005. The "Hartz Committee" was founded on 22 February 2002, by the federal government of Germany led then by Gerhard Schröder. Hartz Mountains (Tasmania)
The Hartz Mountains are mountains with twin peaks located in southern Tasmania, Australia. The mountains are situated south west of Hobart, via Geeveston, and are part of the Hartz Mountains National Park. The Hartz Mountains area experiences typical south-west weather conditions. In all seasons there can be snow, chilling rains, low temperatures, strong winds, upslope fog and sudden weather changes. With an elevation of above sea level, the Hartz Peak is the highest point of the Hartz Mountains, and in fine weather the summit offers one of the best views of the southwest and north.
