Harsha De Silva
Harsha de Silva ( si, හර්ෂ ද සිල්වා born 30 August 1964) is a Sri Lankan economist and politician. He is a Member of Parliament (Sri Lanka), Member of Parliament for the Colombo Electoral District, Colombo District and former Non-cabinet minister (Sri Lanka), Non-Cabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution; Non-cabinet minister (Sri Lanka), State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs; and Deputy minister (Sri Lanka), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a member of Samagi Jana Balawegaya. Early life He was educated at Royal College Colombo, earning a Bachelor of Science, BS in Business Management from Truman State University in 1988. He completed his Master of Arts, MA and PhD in Economics at the University of Missouri in 1993. Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service
The Suwa Seriya Foundation (Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service or 1990 Ambulance Service) is a nonprofit organization responsible for operating ambulances and answering and responding to urgent and medical emergency, emergency medical situations within Provinces of Sri Lanka, all nine provinces of Sri Lanka. The service responds to 1990 phone calls across the island. In 2016, the foundation was established on a $7.56 million grant from the Government of India on a request made by the Government of Sri Lanka on a proposal made by Harsha de Silva, then a deputy minister for a pre-hospital emergency ambulance service, which Sri Lanka lacked at the time. The initial grant allowed the ambulance service start its service in the Western and Southern Provinces with a fleet of 88 ambulances.
