Harry Haddock
Henry Haddock (26 July 1925 – 18 December 1998) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left back and spent almost his entire career with Clyde. He was also selected in the Scotland squad for the 1958 FIFA World Cup. He was renowned for his long throw in ability. Club career Haddock was born in Glasgow and began his senior career at Exeter City while with the RAF during World War II, stationed in the Midlands. Haddock also appeared for Renfrew Juniors. He joined Clyde in September 1949 (though a serious injury almost ended his career before it began) and became a reliable fixture in the side over the following 13 seasons, latterly as captain. He enjoyed his fair share of ups and downs during this period: the ''Bully Wee'' were relegated in 1950–51, 1955–56 and 1960–61 although they enjoyed an instant return as Second Division champions on each occasion. Overview Following league reconstruction, the top tier was expanded from 16 to 18 teams with Airdrieonians and Dunfermline Athletic being promoted. The Scotsman
''The Scotsman'' is a Scottish compact newspaper and daily news website headquartered in Edinburgh. First established as a radical political paper in 1817, it began daily publication in 1855 and remained a broadsheet until August 2004. Its parent company, JPIMedia, also publishes the ''Edinburgh Evening News''. It had an audited print circulation of 16,349 for July to December 2018. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. Other league and cup competitions are organised by regional committees. The association headquarters are at Hampden Park, Glasgow, which is Scotland's national football stadium. Archie Robertson (footballer)
Archibald Clark Robertson (15 September 1929 – 28 January 1978) was a Scottish footballer who spent most of his career with Clyde, firstly as an inside right and latterly as manager. Playing career Club Robertson joined Clyde from Junior side Rutherglen Glencairn in 1947, on a part-time basis as he continued his studies towards a degree in chemistry. He spent the next 14 seasons with the ''Bully Wee'', during which time he experienced relegation on three occasions, although he also helped the side win the Division Two title twice, in 1951–52 and 1956–57. Robertson also enjoyed success with Clyde in the Scottish Cup. In the 1955 final he scored Clyde's equalising goal direct from a corner kick in the 88th minute, forcing a 1–1 draw with Celtic. Tommy Ring
Thomas Ring (8 August 1930 – 5 October 1997) was a Scottish footballer, who played at outside left for Ashfield Juniors, Clyde, Everton, Barnsley, Aberdeen, Fraserburgh, Stevenage Town and for Scotland. Club career Ring was born in Glasgow and is best known for his time with Clyde, during which he won the Scottish Cup in 1954–55 and also in 1957–58. Ring scored the winning goal in the 1955 Scottish Cup Final replay versus Celtic. He started out as a promising junior player with Ashfield. After he represented an RAF XI against Blackpool Reserves, an opposition scout tried to recruit him. He'd already joined the ''Bullywee'', but that scout turned out to be ex Clyde captain Danny Blair. Clyde also won the Division Two title twice in 1951–52 and 1956–57.
