Harrogate High School
Harrogate High School is a comprehensive secondary school in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. It has about 600 pupils on roll and approximately 85 full-time teaching staff. The school was awarded specialist Sports College status. The Academy Head is Mark Turner. History The school was founded in 1973 as Harrogate Granby High School by the amalgamation of the original Harrogate High School with Granby Park County Secondary School. Both of these schools were established in the 1960s. The original Harrogate High School was a 'Grammar school' whereby it had a selective intake, for those passing or assessed to be above the 11-plus entry level, and took its first pupils in September 1962. The first headmaster, until his retirement at Easter 1963, was Tom Reginald Lupton. He was succeeded by Mr F.W. An academy ( Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). Acid Reign are an English thrash metal band, originally active from 1985 to 1991. The band rebooted in 2015 with just H remaining from the original line up. Along with Onslaught, Sabbat and Xentrix, Acid Reign are considered to be one of the "big four" of British thrash metal. To date, they have released three studio albums: ''The Fear'' (1989), ''Obnoxious'' (1990) and ''The Age of Entitlement'' (2019). Cronos were an English heavy metal band formed in 1988 by Venom front man Conrad "Cronos" Lant. History Conrad "Cronos" Lant's eponymous band formed after disappointing sales of Venom's '' Calm Before the Storm'' album led him to quit Venom. He took with him the two guitarists, Mike Hickey and James Clare, that Venom had hired to replace founding guitarist Jeff "Mantas" Dunn, upon his departure in 1986. The three ex-Venom members added drummer Chris Patterson to complete Cronos' initial line-up, releasing ''Dancing in the Fire'' in 1990, followed by 1991's ''Rock n' Roll Disease''. Mark Wharton
Mark Ramsey Wharton is a British musician who has worked as the drummer of Acid Reign, Cathedral, Cronos, Asomvel and Workshed. Biography Wharton formed Acid Reign in 1985, along with Kevin "Kev" Papworth, Ian Gangwer, Howard "H" Smith and Gaz Jennings, whom he had met at Granby High School in Harrogate Acid Reign eventually broke up in 1991 after the release of their 1990 album "Obnoxious", leading to Wharton joining his ex-Acid Reign bandmates Gaz Jennings and Adam Lehan in Cathedral in 1992. Wharton then proceeded to form the band Asomvel with Jay-Jay Winter (whom he had played with in an early band, called "Lochenbar") and Lenny Robinson in 1993. At this time, Wharton would also join Venom vocalist Conrad Lant's eponymous band Cronos, however, by 1996 Wharton was no longer present in any of these projects. Lucifer (2014 Band)
Lucifer is a heavy metal band formed in Berlin in 2014 by frontwoman Johanna Sadonis. Following several member changes, vocalist Sadonis remains the only constant member, with the current line-up featuring drummer Nicke Andersson, guitarists Martin Nordin and Linus Björklund, and bassist Harald Göthblad. Currently based out of Stockholm, the members are Swedish with the exception of the German Sadonis. Septic Tank are a British punk rock band formed out of Coventry doom metal band Cathedral. The band was originally formed in 1994, while Cathedral were on tour, and later reformed in 2013 after Cathedral's breakup. Once the band reunited, producer and former member of the UK band Trouble, Jaime "Gomez" Arellano, replaced drummer Barry Stern, due to his death in 2005. Cathedral were a doom metal band from Coventry, England. The group gained attention upon release of its debut album, ''Forest of Equilibrium'' (1991), which is considered a classic of the genre.
