Wilhelmine Margaret Eve "Billa" Harrod (''née'' Cresswell, 1 December 1911 – 9 May 2005), was a British writer and architectural conservationist, best known for saving the mediaeval churches of Norwich, and the wife of the economist Sir Roy Harrod. Early life She was born Wilhelmine Margaret Eve Cresswell on 1 December 1911 at New Hunstanton, Snettisham, Norfolk, the daughter of Lieutenant (later Captain) Francis Joseph Cresswell (died 1914) of the Norfolk Regiment and his wife, Barbara Cresswell, née ffolkes (1884–1977). She was related to several Quaker gentry families, including the Gurneys. Her father was killed in action at Mons not long after the beginning of the First World War, aged 31. Henry Harrod
Henry Harrod (1817–1871) was an English lawyer and antiquary. Life Harrod was born at Aylsham in Norfolk on 30 September 1817, and educated at Norwich. He was admitted an attorney in Michaelmas term 1838, and for many years was in practice at Norwich. In 1862 Harrod moved to Marlborough, and entered into partnership with Richard Henry Holloway, solicitor. In 1865 he went to 4 Victoria Street, Westminster, where he became a professional antiquary. He was working on a monograph on the Tower of London when he died at 2 Rectory Grove, Clapham, Surrey, on 24 January 1871, and was buried at West Norwood Cemetery. His wife was the eldest daughter of Colonel Franklin Head. James Harrod
James Harrod () was a pioneer, soldier, and hunter who helped explore and settle the area west of the Allegheny Mountains. Little is known about Harrod's early life, including the exact date of his birth. He was possibly underage when he served in the French and Indian War, and later participated in Lord Dunmore's War. He also rose to the rank of colonel in the local militia. A contemporary of better known explorers, like Daniel Boone, George Rogers Clark, Benjamin Logan, and Simon Kenton, Harrod led many expeditions into the regions that are now a part of Kentucky and Illinois. He and a band of almost forty men founded the first permanent settlement in Kentucky on June 16, 1774, although it had to be abandoned the same year. He is best known for writing ''The Life of John Maynard Keynes'' (1951) and for the development of the Harrod–Domar model, which he and Evsey Domar developed independently. Harrod Blank (born 1963, in Westminster, California, United States) is an American documentary filmmaker and art car artist living at Berkeley in California. He is the son of Gail, a ceramic artist, and filmmaker Les Blank. His works include the 1992 film ''Wild Wheels'', which documents the artcar phenomenon in America, and the 1998 follow-up ''Driving The Dream'', which focuses on the artists behind the cars.
