Harris Field
Harris Field is a college baseball park in the western United States, located in Lewiston, Idaho. An on-campus venue with a seating capacity of 5,000, it is the home field of the Warriors of Lewis–Clark State College, a top program in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Since 1984, LCSC has won nineteen national titles and had six runner-up finishes. The ballpark became Harris Field in 1950, while the college was known as North Idaho College of Education (NICE) and its teams were the Loggers. It was named for Loyd Harris (1883–1969), a local businessman, civic leader, and baseball booster. He was active in baseball as a player, manager, and club director since 1904. Previously, the diamond was simply known as NICE Field. Lights were added to Harris Field in the summer of 1975, and it has hosted the NAIA World Series more than twenty times, from 1984 through 1991, and continuously since 2000. Lewis–Clark State College
Lewis–Clark State College is a public college in the northwest United States, located in north central Idaho at Lewiston. Founded in 1893, it has an approximate annual enrollment of 3,600. The college offers more than 130 degrees and is well known for its social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, and technical programs. History In 1893, Governor William J. McConnell signed an act on January 27 authorizing the establishment of the Lewiston State Normal School in Lewiston. Lewiston High School (Idaho)
Lewiston High School is a four-year public secondary school in Lewiston, Idaho, the only traditional high school in the Lewiston School District. The school colors of LHS are purple and gold and the mascot is Joe Bengal. After 92 years of service, the 1928 building (1114 Ninth Avenue) closed in 2020, and the new campus is approximately southeast. Athletics Lewiston competes in IHSAA Class 5A with the largest schools in the state, and its conference is the Inland Empire League (5A) with Coeur d'Alene, Lake City, and Post Falls; all about two hours north in Kootenai County. Lewiston has long-term rivalries with adjacent Clarkston and also with Moscow, about north on the adjoining Palouse. Bengal Field is an outdoor athletic stadium in the Northwestern United States, northwest United States, located in Lewiston, Idaho. Opened in 1934 as a multi-sport athletic field, it is currently the High school football, football stadium for Lewiston High School (Idaho), Lewiston High School, formerly located a few blocks to the northwest. The natural grass field runs conventionally north-south, with the main grandstand on the west sideline. The elevation of the field is approximately above sea level. NAIA World Series
The NAIA World Series (officially branded as the Avista NAIA World Series for sponsorship purposes from 2013) is a double-elimination tournament, held since 1957, to determine the baseball champion of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Since 2000, the tournament has been held at Harris Field on the campus of Lewis–Clark State College (LCSC) in Lewiston, Idaho, having previously hosted from 1984 to 1991. Lewiston is a city and the county seat of Nez Perce County, Idaho, United States, in the state's north central region.
