Harold Hill Football Club is an English football club, based in Harold Hill in the London Borough of Havering. They currently play in the . The club is affiliated to the Essex County Football Association. History The club joined the Essex Olympian League as Mountnessing in 1984. Apart from one season in Division in 1988–89, they remained in Division Two until 2006, when they were promoted back to the top flight. In 2008, they were renamed Mountnessing Boca but reverted to just Mountnessing two years later. In 2010, Mountnessing made their debut in the FA Vase, and a year later the club was renamed Harold Hill. The 2013–14 season saw the club gain promotion to the Premier division of the Essex Olympian League, as champions of Division One. The club spent two seasons in the Premier Division but were relegated back to Division one. Harold Hill
Harold Hill is a suburban area in the London Borough of Havering, East London. northeast of Charing Cross. It is a district centre in the London Plan. The name refers to King Harold II, who held the manor of Havering-atte-Bower, and who was killed at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The suburb is peripheral to London, forming an eastern edge of the urban sprawl. The extensive London County Council housing development of Harold Hill was conceived in the Greater London Plan of 1944 in order to alleviate housing shortages in Inner London. Before construction of the estate, which was completed in 1958, it was the location of Dagnam Park house and grounds, and in the Municipal Borough of Romford and the county of Essex, but was transferred to Greater London in 1965. The Essex Olympian Football League is a football competition based in England, founded in the 1966–67 season. It has a total of six senior divisions and one under 21 division. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. London League (football)
The London League was a football competition that was held in the London and surrounding areas of south-east England from 1896 until 1964. In 1896 the president of the London League was Arnold Hills founder of Thames Ironworks F.C. (which later reformed as West Ham United). One of the men who helped draft the rules of the competition was Francis Payne, club secretary of Thames Ironworks F.C. in 1897. The league started with three divisions, the 3rd Grenadier Guards winning the inaugural championship. The league fluctuated between having a single division and reaching four divisions.
