Randolph County is a county in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 25,414. Its county seat is Huntsville. The county was organized January 22, 1829 and named for U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator John Randolph of Roanoke, Virginia. Moberly is a city in Randolph County, Missouri, United States. The population was 13,974 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri metropolitan area. History Moberly was founded in 1866, and named after Colonel William E. Moberly, the first president of the Chariton and Randolph County railroads. Moberly, the "Magic City", grew from the town platted by the North Missouri R. R. (Wabash) in 1866 to a transportation center with a 6,070 population by 1880. The North Mo. acquired the site when it took over the Chariton and Randolph R.R. after the Civil War. Moniteau Creek is a stream in Randolph, Howard and Boone counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The headwaters of the stream are southwest of Moberly in Randolph County. The stream flows south passing into Howard County in the Rudolph Bennett Conservation Area. The stream flows south-southwest along the eastern part of the county passing under Missouri Route 124 and becomes the boundary between Howard and Boone counties before passing under U. S.
