Thiranagama
Thiranagama is a village in the southwestern Galle District of Sri Lanka, known for its luxury hotels including the only two 5-star hotels in the Hikkaduwa region (Riff Hotel and Haritha Villas). Geography Thiranagama is located by the Indian Ocean, north to Galle and south to Colombo. It is located between the tourist town of Hikkaduwa and Dodanduwa. Galle Fort
Galle Fort ( si, ගාලු කොටුව ''Galu Kotuwa''; ta, காலிக் கோட்டை, translit=Kālik Kōṭṭai), in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. Hikkaduwa
Hikkaduwa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka located in the Southern Province, about north-west of Galle and south of Colombo. Etymology The name Hikkaduwa is thought to have been derived from the two words ''Sip Kaduwa'', with ''Sip (සිප්)'' being the shorter version of ''Shilpaya'' which refers to knowledge in Sinhalese and ''Kaduwa(කඩුව)'' which means sword. It is believed therefore that the name Hikkaduwa means ''sword of knowledge''. Alternatively it means coral or seashell jungle.
