Hare We Go
''Hare We Go'' is a 1951 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on January 6, 1951, and features Bugs Bunny. Plot In 1492 Christopher Columbus is arguing with the king of Spain whether the world is round or flat. Columbus suggests that the Earth is round like an apple or a human head. King Ferdinand insists the Earth is flat like a pancake (and Columbus' head, after flattening it with his scepter). Eventually the king kicks Columbus out of his palace. Then Bugs Bunny emerges from his rabbit hole and asks Columbus what's bothering him. Columbus says that no one believes his theory, but Bugs, after looking at Columbus' globe, says "She looks round to me, Doc." Queen Isabella speaks (like Mae West) to Bugs and Columbus from a window, offering him her jewels if he can prove the world is round. Bugs tells Columbus that he can prove that the world is round. Robert McKimson
Robert Porter McKimson Sr. (October 13, 1910 – September 29, 1977) was an American animator and illustrator, best known for his work on the ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from Warner Bros. Cartoons and later DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. He wrote and directed many animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn, Hippety Hopper, and The Tasmanian Devil, among other characters. He was also well known for defining Bugs Bunny's look in the 1943 short ''Tortoise Wins by a Hare''. Career Born in Denver, Colorado, McKimson spent ten years gaining an art education at the Lukits School of Art. ''Rabbit Every Monday'' is a 1951 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on February 10, 1951, and stars Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. The title is a play on ''Chicken Every Sunday''. It is the last short to feature Sam's mouth below his mustache; his design changes midway through the film. Porky Pig is an animated character in the Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons. He was the first character created by the studio to draw audiences based on his celebrity, star power, and the animators created many critically acclaimed shorts featuring the character. Even after he was supplanted by later characters, Porky continued to be popular with moviegoers and, more importantly, the Warners directors, who recast him in numerous everyman and sidekick roles. He is known for his signature line at the end of many shorts, "Th-th-th-that's all, folks!" Robert Emerson Clampett Sr. (May 8, 1913 – May 2, 1984) was an American animator, director, producer and puppeteer. He was best known for his work on the '' Looney Tunes'' animated series from Warner Bros. as well as the television shows ''Time for Beany'' and ''Beany and Cecil''. He was born and raised not far from Hollywood and, early in life, showed an interest in animation and puppetry. After leaving high school a few months shy of graduating in 1931, he joined the team at Harman-Ising Productions and began working on the studio's newest short subjects, ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies''. Clampett was promoted to a directorial position in 1937. During his 15 years at the studio, he directed 84 cartoons later deemed classic, and designed some of the studio's most famous characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and Tweety.
