Hardly Art
Hardly Art is an American independent record label based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in early 2007 by Sub Pop Records, Hardly Art is run by three full-time employees and is distributed by the Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) and Sub Pop. The label's name comes from a lyric from the song "No Culture Icons" by the Thermals. In 2016, the label was recognized for its contributions to independent music with a Genius Award Nomination from The Stranger. Tacocat is an American punk rock band from Seattle, founded in 2007 and consisting of Emily Nokes, Bree McKenna, Lelah Maupin, and Eric Randall. They gained popularity in 2014 following the release of their second album '' NVM'', engineered by Conrad Uno. The album received positive reviews in the music press, including from Pitchfork, AllMusic, and PopMatters, and also reached the CMJ top 10 college radio albums. Tacocat addresses feminist themes in many of their songs using humor and sarcasm. The song "Crimson Wave" is a period-positive beach anthem featuring red imagery and humorous menstruation metaphors. The music video for the song gained over 10,000 views in a single week on YouTube, and has since gotten over 415,000 views. Shannon And The Clams
Shannon and the Clams is an indie garage punk quartet based in Oakland, California. Known for a vintage sound that incorporates elements of doo-wop, classic R&B, garage psych, and surf, Shannon and the Clams has drawn comparisons to both Buddy Holly and 1960s girl groups. They are also said to love "music from '50s oldies to '80s punk". Seapony
Seapony is an American indie pop band from Seattle. They formed in 2010 and have released two albums on Hardly Art. History Seapony first attracted attention through four songs offered for free on Bandcamp. Their first release was the 3-song single, ''Dreaming'', followed by their debut album, ''Go With Me'', in 2011. Both of their albums have been recorded in a home studio. The trio are also known for their use of a drum machine in their recordings. Seapony toured Europe and Japan in 2013. On September 7, 2015, Seapony announced via Facebook that the band was breaking up. Protomartyr is an American rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 2010. The band consists of Joe Casey (vocals), Greg Ahee (guitar), Alex Leonard (drums), and Scott Davidson (bass). In 2020, Kelley Deal joined the band in a touring capacity, providing additional keyboards, guitar and backing vocals. To date, the band has released five studio albums: ''No Passion All Technique'' (2012), '' Under Color of Official Right'' (2014), ''The Agent Intellect'' (2015), '' Relatives in Descent'' (2017) and ''Ultimate Success Today'' (2020). La Sera is an American indie rock band formed by Katy Goodman, the bassist for Vivian Girls, in 2010. They have released four albums and toured internationally. History La Sera, whose name means "the evening" in Italian, started in 2010, with Goodman writing songs and Brady Hall producing. Lala Lala is the indie rock project of Chicago-based songwriter Lillie West (guitar, vocals). Biography Lillie West was raised in London and moved with her family to Los Angeles when she was a teenager. She would soon relocate to Chicago to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and become involved with the city's underground music scene. A long time fan of music, it wasn't until West began college that she would begin to create music of her own after being encouraged by a friend to purchase a guitar from Craigslist.
