Shannon And The Clams
Shannon and the Clams is an indie garage punk quartet based in Oakland, California. Known for a vintage sound that incorporates elements of doo-wop, classic R&B, garage psych, and surf, Shannon and the Clams has drawn comparisons to both Buddy Holly and 1960s girl groups. They are also said to love "music from '50s oldies to '80s punk". History The band includes vocals from bassist Shannon Shaw, guitarist Cody Blanchard, and keyboardist Will Sprott, along with drums by Nate Mahan. Shaw and Blanchard met at the California College of the Arts, where they began performing together. Shaw is also a member of queercore punk outfit Hunx and His Punx. Shannon and the Clams' debut album, ''I Wanna Go Home'', was released in 2009. In 2011, the group followed up with their sophomore effort, ''Sleep Talk''. ''Onion'' is the fifth studio album by American band Shannon and the Clams. It was released on February 16, 2018 under Easy Eye Records. The album was partially inspired by, and pays tribute to, the 2016 Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse fire. Production The album was recorded over a ten day period in January 2017 at producer Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Release Shannon and the Clams announced the release of their fifth studio album on December 7, 2017. Music videos On December 8, 2017, the music video to "The Boy" was released. Directed by Ryan Daniel Brown, it features vocalist Cody Blanchard travelling along a country road. The Collins Kids
The Collins Kids were an American rockabilly duo featuring Lawrencine "Lorrie" Collins (May 7, 1942 – August 4, 2018) and her younger brother Lawrence "Larry" Collins (born October 4, 1944). Their hits in the 1950s as youngsters, such as "Hop, Skip and Jump", "Beetle Bug Bop" and "Hoy Hoy", were geared towards children, but their infectious singing and playing crossed over generations. Allison Wolfe (born November 9, 1969) is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, writer, and podcaster. As a founding member and lead singer of the punk rock band Bratmobile, she became one of the leading voices of the riot grrl movement.
