Harald Hægermark
Lieutenant General Harald Oskar Hægermark (13 November 1894 – 20 March 1965) was a senior Swedish Army officer. He served as Commanding General of the II Military District from 1951 to 1960. Early life Hægermark was born on 13 November 1894 in Torsång Parish, Kopparberg County, Sweden, the son of Richard Hægermark, a vicar, and his wife Ida Levin. He passed ''studentexamen'' in 1912. Career Hægermark was commissioned as an officer with the rank of ''underlöjtnant'' in 1914 and was assigned to Västmanland Regiment the same year. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1918. Hægermark took an instructor course at the Royal Central Gymnastics Institute from 1919 to 1920 and attended the Royal Swedish Army Staff College from 1920 to 1924 and served as aspirant in the General Staff from 1924 to 1926 when he was promoted to captain in the same staff. Torsång () is a locality situated in Borlänge Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden with 666 inhabitants in 2010. North Scanian Infantry Regiment
North Scanian Infantry Regiment ( sv, Norra skånska infanteriregementet), designation I 6, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that operated from 1812 to 1963. The unit was based in the Kristianstad Garrison in Kristianstad. In 1963 the regiment was transferred to the Swedish Armoured Troops under the name of North Scanian Regiment (P 6). History The North Scanian Infantry Regiment was raised on 10 December 1811, and its first commander, major general Georg Carl von Döbeln, was appointed on 14 January 1812. The Royal Order of the Sword (officially: ''Royal Order of the Sword''; Swedish: ''Kungliga Svärdsorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry and military decoration created by King Frederick I of Sweden on February 23, 1748, together with the Order of the Seraphim and the Order of the Polar Star. The motto of the order is in Latin: ''Pro Patria'' (which means "For Fatherland"). Major (Maj) ( sv, Major, Mj) is a field grade military officer rank in the Swedish Armed Forces, above the rank of captain and below the rank of lieutenant colonel. It is equivalent to the naval rank of lieutenant commander in the Swedish Navy.
