North Scanian Infantry Regiment
North Scanian Infantry Regiment ( sv, Norra skånska infanteriregementet), designation I 6, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that operated from 1812 to 1963. The unit was based in the Kristianstad Garrison in Kristianstad. In 1963 the regiment was transferred to the Swedish Armoured Troops under the name of North Scanian Regiment (P 6). History The North Scanian Infantry Regiment was raised on 10 December 1811, and its first commander, major general Georg Carl von Döbeln, was appointed on 14 January 1812. The regiment was ''roterade'' (an old feudal method of recruiting) in the northern part of Scania with 522 numbers in Kristianstad County and 462 in Malmöhus County, and it was mainly carried out by using ''extra roteringen'' (new formation of regiments from district till then privileged). Ljungbyhed is a urban areas of Sweden, locality situated in Klippan Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, with 2,046 inhabitants in 2010. Kvidinge is a locality situated in Åstorp Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 1,854 inhabitants in 2010. It is famous as the death site of Charles August, Crown Prince of Sweden in 1810. Ringsjön
Ringsjön is a lake situated in the middle of Skåne County, Sweden. At , it is the second largest lake in the county. The western and eastern parts of the lake, called Västra Ringsjön and Östra Ringsjön respectively, are separated by a headland. Västra Ringsjön has a depth of at its deepest known point, while Östra Ringsjön has a depth of . Ringsjön provides drinking water for the inhabitants of Skåne if the water tunnel connected to the lake Bolmen would cease to work. This happened in 2009, when the tunnel was almost completely blocked after a collapse. Defence Act Of 1925 (Sweden)
The Defence Act of 1925 was a defence act passed by the Swedish Riksdag on 26 May 1925 and came into force on 1 January 1928. The Act specified how the Swedish Armed Forces would operate during the coming years. The Act resulted in a policy of disarmament. The Act would remain effective until the Defence Act of 1936. The new order of battle meant that the number of Army Divisions was decreased to 4. 17 military units were disbanded and conscription time was lowered to 140 days for most conscripts. Allotment System
The allotment system ( sv, indelningsverket; fi, ruotujakolaitos) was a system used in Sweden for keeping a trained army at all times. This system came into use in around 1640, and was replaced by the modern Swedish Armed Forces conscription system in 1901. Two different allotment systems have been in use in Sweden; they are the old allotment system (''äldre indelningsverket'') and the new allotment system (''yngre indelningsverket''), the latter often referred to as just "the allotment system". The soldiers who were part of these systems were known as "croft soldiers" (''indelta soldater'', the Swedish term, does not have the same meaning) due to the small crofts allotted to them.
