Haradheere
Harardhere (, so, Xarardheere) is a historic town in the Mudug province of Somalia. It is situated in the autonomous Galmudug state and serves as the capital of the Harardhere District. History For most of its history, Harardhere was a historic town that was included in many Somali sultanates like the Ajuran Sultanate and Hiraab Imamate, who ruled over the town since 13th century. After Somalia gained independence, the town developed and gave birth to many prominent Somali politicians and military officials like Abdirashid Ali Shermarke the second president of Somalia, Maj. Somali Armed Forces
The Somali Armed Forces are the military forces of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Headed by the president as commander-in-chief, they are constitutionally mandated to ensure the nation's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. Chapter 14, Article 126(3). The SAF was initially made up of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Police Force. In the post-independence period, it grew to become among the larger militaries in Africa. Due to Barre's increasing reliance on his own clans, repressive policies, and the Somali Rebellion, the military had by 1988 begun to disintegrate. By the time President Siad Barre fled Mogadishu in January 1991, the last cohesive army grouping, the 'Red Berets,' had deteriorated into a clan militia. The Hawiye ( so, Hawiye, ar, بنو هوية, it, Hauija) is the largest Somali clan family. Members of this clan traditionally inhabit central and southern Somalia, Somaliland, Ethiopia ( Somali, Harar, Oromia and Afar regions) and the North Eastern Province in Kenya. Mohamed Abshir Muse ( so, Maxamed Abshir Muuse, ar, محمد أبشير موسى); July 01, 1926 — October 25, 2017 also known as Mahamed Abshir Haamaan, was a prominent Somali General and the first Commander of the Somali Police Force. Early years Abshir Muse was born to a Somali family and received training from the Carabinieri, Italy's national gendarmerie. Military and police career Muse worked his way up to become a commandant in the Somali Defence forces from 1958 to 1960 and then opted to join the Somali Police Force upon its inception and commanded the force for 9 years till the military coup of 1969. General Daud Abdulle Hirsi ( so, Daa'uud Cabdulle Xirsi, ar, داود عبد الله حرسي; 1925–1965) was a Somali police and military officer, who went on to become first Commander of the Somali Armed Forces.Bildhaan, p. 64. Biography Hirsi was born in 1925 in the town of Mareeg situated in central Somalia. He later joined the military, and eventually rose to the rank of Commander-in-Chief of the nascent Somali National Army (Ciidamadda Xoogga Dalka Soomaaliyeed), the first position of its kind. Following Somalia's independence in 1960, Hirsi became Minister of Defence in the country's new civilian administration. Hirsi died shortly thereafter in 1965 in Moscow, Russia.
