Hans Niessl
Hans Niessl (in official documents, his surname is spelt Nießl, born 12 June 1951 in Zurndorf) is an Austrian politician, member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria and former Governor of Burgenland. From 1987 till 2000, Niessl was mayor of Frauenkirchen, he has been a member of the parliament of Burgenland since 1996. Hans Peter Doskozil
Hans Peter Doskozil (born 21 June 1970) is an Austrian politician, member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria. He has previously served in cabinet and is currently the governor ('' Landeshauptmann'') of Burgenland since 28 February 2019. In the 2020 Burgenland election, he led his party to win a majority of the seats in Burgenland's parliament. Education Doskozil studied law at the University of Vienna from 1994 until 2000 (Mag. iur.). Political career On migrant policy, as Governor, Doskozil has at times adopted a harder line than his predecessor Gerald Klug. Frauenkirchen
Frauenkirchen ( hu, Boldogasszony, Fertőboldogasszony, Fertő-Boldogasszony) is an Austrian town in the district of Neusiedl am See, Burgenland. History The first mentioning of Frauenkirchen was in 1324 as "Szent Maria". During the Siege of Vienna (1529) and the Battle of Vienna, the village and the church were destroyed by Ottoman forces. Under Paul I, Prince Esterházy, reconstruction of the village would begin. Around the basilica built from 1695 to 1702, as well as the Franciscan Monastery in the city, the mostly German speaking town would gradually develop into a trading centre from the late 17th century. Since 1897, Frauenkirchen would be connected to the Austro-Hungarian railway network with the Neusiedler Seebahn. After 1898, the Hungarian name Fertőboldogasszony (or simply "Boldogasszony") would be forcefully used due to Magyarization policies.
