Hans Mengel (6 February 1917 – 1 January 1943) was a German footballer who played as a midfielder for TuRU Düsseldorf and the Germany national team. Personal life Mengel served in the German Army during the Second World War. He was reported missing in action on the Eastern Front on 1 January 1943. Sologubovka Cemetery
Sologubovka Cemetery is a German war cemetery and the final resting place of over 30,000 German war dead from World War II. Located southeast of St. Petersburg in northwestern Russia, it has a capacity for a further 50,000 burials of previously lost German war dead. History In September 2000, the Sologubovka Cemetery was opened in the presence of German and Russian officials, including many German veterans hoping to find lost comrades. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
