Hans Feige
Hans Feige (10 November 1880 – 17 September 1953) was a German General of the Infantry in the Wehrmacht during World War II. Career Feige joined the German Army in 1900. During World War I he served mainly in General Staff positions of various formations. He was wounded twice in the war and received several awards like both classes of the Iron Cross. After the war he joined the Freikorps until he was accepted into the Reichswehr. Here again he mostly served in staff positions and was promoted to Generalmajor on 1 October 1931 and to Generalleutnant 2 years later. On 1 October 1933 he took command of the 1st Cavalry Division, which was disbanded in 1935. He successively entered retirement in 1935, as General of the Infantry. At the onset of World War II he was recalled into active service and took over command of the XXXVI Corps in May 1940. His unit subsequently participated in the Fall of France in the Lorraine region. Königsberg
Königsberg (, ) was the historic Prussian city that is now Kaliningrad, Russia. Königsberg was founded in 1255 on the site of the ancient Old Prussian settlement ''Twangste'' by the Teutonic Knights during the Northern Crusades, and was named in honour of King Ottokar II of Bohemia. Army Norway (Wehrmacht)
The Army of Norway, also simply Army Norway (german: Armee Norwegen), was a German army operating in the far north of Norway and Finland during World War II. The Army of Norway was under ''Armeeoberkommando Norwegen'' (Army High Command Norway), abbreviated ''AOK Norwegen'', which was one of the two army echelon headquarters controlling German troops in the far north. ''Armeeoberkommando Norwegen'' was directly subordinate to OKH, the high command headquarters of the Wehrmacht. It was created from Army Group XXI in December 1940, itself a successor of the XXI Army Corps, and disbanded in December 1944, with its assets taken over by the 20th Mountain Army. Nikolaus Von Falkenhorst
Paul Nikolaus von Falkenhorst (17 January 1885 – 18 June 1968) was a German general and a war criminal during World War II. He planned and commanded the German invasion of Denmark and Norway in 1940, and was commander of German troops during the occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1944. After the war, Falkenhorst was tried by a joint British-Norwegian military tribunal for war crimes. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 1946. The sentence was later commuted to twenty years' imprisonment. Falkenhorst was released in 1953 and died in 1968. Career Falkenhorst was born in Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland). He joined the army in 1903 and served in World War I in regimental and staff roles, including a stint in Finland. Salla (''Kuolajärvi'' until 1936) ( smn, Kyelijävri) is a municipality of Finland, located in Lapland. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. Finnish III Corps (Continuation War)
The III Corps () was a corps of the Finnish Army during the Continuation War, where Finland fought alongside Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union. Formed from the peacetime V Corps and subordinated to the German Army High Command Norway, III Corps fought initially in northern Finland on the flank of the German XXXVI Corps, participating in the Finno-German Operation Arctic Fox. In February 1944, it was moved to the Karelian Isthmus just prior to the launch of the Soviet Vyborg–Petrozavodsk offensive.
