Pfarrer Braun
''Pfarrer Braun'' is a German television series. It is based on the character of Father Brown, originally created by G. K. Chesterton. The last episode of the series (Brauns Heimkehr) was produced in 2013 and aired on March 20, 2014. The reason for discontinuing the series was Ottfried Fischer's (Pfarrer Braun actor) advancing health problems, as the production company announced in May 2013. Plot Pfarrer Guido Braun investigates a case, which usually results in a punitive transfer and thus the establishment of a new plot location for the next episode. If he sees an injustice, he wants to put an end to it, defying the explicit prohibition of his bishop Hemmelrath. In sometimes not entirely kosher ways, he contributes to the solution of the case with the support of his sacristan Armin Knopp, his housekeeper Margot Roßhauptner and the clumsy chief inspector Geiger. Main Characters Pfarrer Guido Braun - despite the explicit prohibition by his bishop Hemmelrath - cannot refrain ...

''Der Bulle von Tölz'' is a German television series which has been produced and broadcast by Sat.1 since 1996. As of January 2009, 69 self-contained feature-length episodes have been made. Genre Set in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, the series is about the activities of the local ''Kriminalpolizei'' as personified by Benno Berghammer (Ottfried Fischer), the eponymous ''Bulle'' (literally "bull", a slang word and the equivalent of "cop" but at the same time an allusion to his bulky appearance), and Sabrina Lorenz (Katerina Jacob), two ''Kommissare'' who invariably, at the beginning of each episode, are faced with murder in the seemingly idyllic small town of Bad Tölz or its rural surroundings. Generally, no violence is shown, and although the plot is always well constructed and the murder cases are always plausible and realistic, the huge popularity of the show is due to the underlying comedy which pervades each episode. Thus, most adult viewers derive more pleasure from the constellation ...

''Polizeiruf 110'' ("Police call 110") is a long-running German-language detective television series likened to Poirot. The name links to the emergency telephone number of the ''Volkspolizei''. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), and after the dissolution of Deutscher Fernsehfunk the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series ''Tatort'', and quickly became a public favorite. In contrast with other television crime series in which killings are practically the primary focus, while ''Tatort'' handled homicide cases, the cases handled in the GDR TV's ''Polizeiruf'' were more often more frequent crimes such as domestic violence, extortion, fraud, theft and juvenile delinquency, as well as alcoholism, child abuse and rape. Contrary to ''Tatort'', which concentrated on the primary characters and their private lives, police procedure was the center of attention of ''Polizeiruf'', espe ...
