Hans-Peter Kandler
Hans-Peter Kandler (born 2 April 1956) is a former professional tennis player from Austria. Biography Kandler was born in Mödling, a town near Vienna. He competed professionally on the Grand Prix tour in the 1980s and represented Austria in two Davis Cup ties in 1982. Both of his Davis Cup appearances came in 1982, the first a Europe Zone quarter-final tie at home against Algeria, in which Kandler won two singles matches to help Austria secure a 5–0 whitewash. He played again in the semi-final against Switzerland at Werzer Stadium in Portschach. Once more he was used in two singles rubbers and on this occasion lost both, to Roland Stadler and then Heinz Günthardt. On the Grand Prix tour he won a total of five singles matches and made it to 136 in the world. He suffered an unusual injury at the 1985 Tournament of Champions in Forest Hills, while partnering Fernando Luna in first round of the doubles draw, against top seeds Ken Flach and Robert Seguso. Mödling
Mödling () is the capital of the Austrian Mödling (district), district of the same name located approximately 14 km south of Vienna. Mödling lies in Lower Austria's industrial zone (Industrieviertel). The Mödlingbach, a brook which rises in the Vienna Woods, flows through the town. Near Achau it joins with the Schwechat. Woodland occupies a large part of the municipality, part of the Föhrenberge ('Pine Mountains'). Located immediately south of Vienna, and within the boundaries of the district of Mödling, is one of the largest shopping centres in Europe: Shopping City Süd (SCS). Robert Seguso
Robert Arthur Seguso (born May 1, 1963) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. A doubles specialist, he won four Grand Slam men's doubles titles (two Wimbledon, one French Open and one US Open). He also won the men's doubles gold medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, partnering Ken Flach. Seguso reached the world no. 1 doubles ranking in 1985. He won a total of 29 career doubles titles between 1984 and 1991. Seguso played doubles with Flach on the U.S. Davis Cup team from 1985 to 1991, compiling a 10–2 record. He was also a member of the U.S. team which won the World Team Cup in 1985. Before turning professional, Seguso played tennis for Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where he was an NCAA Division II singles finalist in 1982 and Division I doubles finalist in 1983. Alfonso González (tennis)
Alfonso González is a Mexican former professional tennis player. Born in Monterrey, González was active on the professional tour during the 1980s and had a career high singles ranking of 229 in the world. He featured in the main draw of the French Open as a doubles player. González, a Mexican national champion in 1983, represented his country in a 1984 Davis Cup tie against Venezuela in Caracas, playing two rubbers. His doubles win, partnering Fernando Pérez Pascal, secured the tie for Mexico and he then won a reverse singles over Iñaki Calvo.
