Hanover, Minnesota
Hanover is a city in Wright and Hennepin counties in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 2,938 at the 2010 census. Hanover is mainly located within Wright County; only a small part of the city extends into Hennepin County. Even though Hanover is partly in the metropolitan county of Hennepin, it does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council. History Hanover was laid out in 1877 and named after Hanover, in Germany, the native land of some of the early settlers. A post office has been in operation at Hanover since 1877. Hanover was incorporated in 1891. One property in Hanover, the 1885 Hanover Bridge, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hanover Bridge
The Hanover Bridge is a historic metal pin-connected Pratt through truss bridge spanning the Crow River between Hanover and Rogers, Minnesota, United States, on the border of Wright and Hennepin Counties. It is the second-oldest Pratt truss bridge remaining in Minnesota. The Hanover Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 for having local significance in the themes of engineering and transportation. It was nominated as a well-preserved example of a bridge type once common in Wright County. Construction The Hanover Bridge was built in 1885 by the Morse Bridge Company of Youngstown, Ohio. The company later changed its name to the Youngstown Bridge Company, and merged into the American Bridge Company in 1900. The Hanover Bridge is long, with a roadbed and a vertical clearance. Buffalo High School is located in Buffalo, Minnesota, Minnesota, United States off the intersection of County Road 35 and Dague Avenue. There are three communities that contribute students: Buffalo, Minnesota, Hanover, Minnesota, and Montrose, Minnesota, which has helped BHS grow into a large school of 2,145 students starting in the 2022-23 school year, with a staff of approximately 400.
