Hannu Hannuksela
Hannu Esa Hannuksela (12 December 1893 – 12 May 1942) was a Finnish Major General during World War II. Life and career prior to World War II Born to a vicar in Ilmajoki, Vaasa Province, Hannuksela graduated from ''Kuopion klassilinen lyseo'', an upper secondary school, in 1914. He began his military career by entering German service as a volunteer in the Royal Prussian 27th Jäger Battalion in March 1916 at the ''Lockstedter Lager'' in Germany, where he specialised as an artilleryman in a light howitzer battery. From spring 1916 to January 1917, Hannuksela fought on the Eastern Front alongside the battalion at numerous battles near Riga, receiving experience in trench warfare, offensive operations and winter combat. His first promotion was to ''hilfsgruppenführer'' ("squad leader") in December 1917. In February 1918 he was promoted to ''fähnrich'', returning to Finland with his battalion later that month. Ilmajoki (; sv, Ilmola) is a municipality of Finland. Ilmajoki is a town and municipality situated in Finland's South Ostrobothnia region, founded in 1865. Ilmajoki has a population of 12,165 (28. February 2017)and covers an area of 579.79 km2 (223.86 sq mi), of which 2.89 km2 (1.12 sq mi) is water. The population density is 20.2 inhabitants per square kilometre (52.3 per sq mi). The Finnish invasion of Ladoga Karelia was a military campaign carried out by Finland in 1941. Initial layout of forces At the start of the Continuation War the Finnish army was deployed in a defensive posture, but on June 29 Mannerheim created the Army of Karelia, commanded by Lt. Gen. Erik Heinrichs, and ordered it to prepare to attack Ladoga Karelia. The Army of Karelia consisted of VI Corps (the 5th and 11th Divisions), VII Corps (the 7th and 19th divisions) and Group Oinonen (also known as Group O, the Cavalry Brigade, and the 1st Jaeger Brigade and 2nd Jaeger Brigade). Kuopio Lyceum High School is an upper secondary school (''lukio'') for students aged 15–19. Kuopion Lyseon lukio is located in Kuopio, Finland. Originally established as a boys' school in 1872, Kuopion Lyseo opened its doors to both sexes in 1977. The origins of Kuopion Lyseo can be traced further back to Viipurin Triviaalikoulu that was established in 1534 and relocated to Kuopio in 1777. Kuopion Lyseon lukio is one of the most academically prestigious upper secondary schools in Finland.
