Hannelore Schmidt (badminton)
Hannelore "Loki" Schmidt (; 3 March 1919 – 21 October 2010) was a German teacher and environmentalist. She was the wife of Helmut Schmidt, who was the Chancellor of Germany from 1974 to 1982. Life and work Hannelore Glaser was born in 1919 in Hamburg. She studied four semesters of education. After graduation she worked as a school teacher continuously from 1940 until 1972 (teaching elementary school, Volksschule and Realschule). She married Helmut Schmidt in 1942. He became a politician who rose in 1974 to become Chancellor of West Germany. In 1976, Loki Schmidt founded the ''Stiftung zum Schutze gefährdeter Pflanzen'' (engl.: foundation for the protection of endangered plants), which later became the ''Stiftung Naturschutz Hamburg und Stiftung zum Schutze gefährdeter Pflanzen'' (engl.: nature conservancy foundation Hamburg for the protection of endangered plants). Pitcairnia
''Pitcairnia'' is a genus of plants in the Family (biology), family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Pitcairnioideae. It was named for William Pitcairn, Scottish physician and gardener (1711–1791). The genus ''Pitcairnia'' ranks as the second most prolific of the bromeliad family (after ''Tillandsia).'' They are most abundant in Colombia, Peru and Brazil, but can also be found in areas from Cuba and Mexico south to Argentina. One species, ''Pitcairnia feliciana'', is found in tropical West Africa and is the only member of the family Bromeliaceae not native to the Americas. Langenhorn, Hamburg
is a quarter in the borough Hamburg-Nord of Hamburg, Germany. In 2020 the population was 46,272. History On January 25, 1332, Langenhorn was sold to Hamburg by the Count of Holstein. Since then, Langenhorn has been a part of Hamburg. A subcamp to the Neuengamme concentration camp existed in Langenhorn from September 12, 1944 until April 4, 1945. Geography In 2006, according to the statistical office of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the quarter Langenhorn has a total area of 13.8 km². To the north and the west is the state Schleswig-Holstein. In the east is the quarter Hummelsbüttel of the Wandsbek borough and in the south is the quarter Fuhlsbüttel. Buthidae
The Buthidae are the largest family of scorpions, containing about 100 genera and 1339 species as of 2022. A few very large genera (''Ananteris'', ''Centruroides'', '' Compsobuthus'', or '' Tityus'') are known, but a high number of species-poor or monotypic ones also exist. New taxa are being described at a rate of several new species per year. They have a osmopolitandistribution throughout tropical and subtropical environments worldwide. Together with four other families, the Buthidae make up the superfamily Buthoidea. The family was established by Carl Ludwig Koch in 1837.
