Hangu District, Tianjin
Hangu District (), is a former district in eastern Tianjin, China; now part of Binhai New Area. It serves as a gateway towards Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Geography Hangu District is 50 kilometers away from Tangshan in Hebei Province to the east, away from downtown in the west, away from Tianjin New Port and TEDA and away from Dagang District, notable for its petroleum production. Bohai Bay is located to the south and connects with Ninghe County in the north. The Jiyun River divides the north and south of the district for a length of and covers a watershed of . Hangu Pass
Hangu Pass or Hanguguan is a pass separating the upper Yellow River and Wei valleys—the cradle of Chinese civilization and seat of its longtime capital Xi'an—from the fertile North China Plain. It lies on the south bank of the Yellow River just east of its eastward bend out of the Ordos Loop at Tong Pass in Shaanxi. It was the site of many battles during the Warring States and early imperial eras, when it was the chokepoint shielding Qin, Guanzhong, or Luoyang from outside attack. The term Hangu Pass refers to two locations: the Qin dynasty Hangu Pass in Hanguguan Town, Lingbao county, Sanmenxia city, Henan and secondly, the Han dynasty Hangu Pass in Xin’an county, Luoyang city, Henan. Hangu ( ps, هنګو, ur, ) is a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is the largest city and namesake of Hangu District and is the third-largest city in Kohat Division, after Karak and Kohat. In 1998, Hangu was the second-largest city in the division. Hangu is the 27th largest city in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The principal language of the city is Pashto. Education Various public and private schools and colleges exist in Hangu. A campus of the Agriculture University was to be built in Hangu, but the project is still pending, as the funds were allegedly transferred to Charsadda by the ANP provincial government. Hangu District, Pakistan
Hangu District ( ps, هنګو ولسوالۍ, ur, ) is a district in Kohat Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The district takes its name from the town of Hangu, which is its administrative centre. The name Hangu may also sometimes be applied to the Miranzai Valley which is partly within the district, bordering the Samana Range. History From 1540 to 1893 Hangu was ruled by the 2 Khans of Hangu, the Malak Khails and the Khans of Hangu, the Malak Khails were centrally located in Darsamand and Mammu. Nomads from Afghanistan would travel southwards during the winters however this is not possible after the 1970s due to stricter border controls. Hangu District was created from part of Kohat on 30 June 1996. Its area starts from a village named Khawaja Khizer (Jawzara), which is the boundary between Kohat and Hangu Districts. Miranzai Valley
The Miranzai Valley, also Hangu, is a mountainous valley situated in the Kohat and Hangu districts in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan. It is made up of two valleys, draining from the southwest into the Kurram and northeast into the Kohat Tai. It is divided into upper and lower Miranzai. It extends from the Bangash and Orakzai hills to the Bangashs. It is in length and is in area. East of Hangu there are numerous smaller valleys; west of Hangu, consisting of all of the upper portion of the valley, there is a broad and open plain, bare of trees. There are many ravines in this and the surrounding area, with many inhabitants, predominantly the Bangash and Orakzai peoples. Hangu is a commune in Neamț County, Western Moldavia, Romania. Situated in an area of the Lake Izvorul Muntelui also called "Little Switzerland (landscape), Little Switzerland," it is a mixture of modern and archaic culture. It is composed of five villages: Buhalnița, Chirițeni, Grozăvești, Hangu, and Ruginești. Geography Hangu is near Lake Izvorul Muntelui (also known as Bicaz Lake), an artificial lake used to generate hydroelectricity. The village is located in the valley of Hangu river and it surrounded by the peaks of Mount Stânișoara: Muntele Hangu westwards, Boboteni village and Muncelu Peak in the north, the Audia village, and the Malu Peak eastwards.
