Anne Ryan Haney ( Thomas; March 4, 1934 – May 26, 2001) was an American stage and screen actress. She was best known for her roles in ''Mrs. Doubtfire'' and ''Liar Liar'', as well as Alberta Meechum on the sitcom ''Mama's Family''. Early years Haney was born to Robert Lee Thomas and Dorothy (née Ryan) Thomas in Memphis, Tennessee. Henry Ryan Haney (1835 – November 17, 1878) was an Ontario physician and political figure. He represented Monck in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Liberal member from 1872 to 1878. He served as coroner for Welland. Melissa Haney
Melissa Haney (born 1981) is an Inuk pilot from Quebec, Canada. She is noted for being the first female Inuk pilot with Air Inuit to reach the rank of captain. In 2017, the Canadian Ninety-Nines released a postage stamp in commemoration of her achievements. Early life Haney was born in 1981. She spent her early years in the community of Inukjuak on the shores of Hudson Bay, and as a child, Haney loved going to visit the airport. Planes were an ordinary form of transportation in Haney's community, necessary for travelling to dental and medical appointments in other communities. When she was eight, Haney moved south to Eastern Townships with her mother, who was a teacher. Haney grew up in Eastern Townships, and finished a year of university at John Abbott College in Montreal. When she was 19, she heard that Air Inuit was looking for new employees. Lewis Henry Haney (March 30, 1882 – July 1, 1969) was a conservative American economist, professor, and economic columnist. He was born in Eureka, Illinois, and educated at Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Illinois. He received a B.A. and M.A. from Dartmouth College. Ned Haney lectured at New York University in 1908, afterwards teaching at the universities of Iowa and Michigan, and was a professor of economics at the University of Texas. In 1920, he became director of the New York University Bureau of Business Research and professor of economics. In 1921 he was elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He played from 1966 to 1978 for the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Pilots / Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, and St. Louis Cardinals. Haney later served as bullpen coach with the Brewers. His son, Chris Haney, pitched in the majors, primarily for the Kansas City Royals. During a 13-year baseball career, he hit .215, with 12 home runs and 73 runs batted in.
