Hana Makhmalbaf
Hana Makhmalbaf ( fa, حنا مخملباف; born September 3, 1988 in Tehran) is an Iranian filmmaker. She is the younger sister of filmmaker Samira Makhmalbaf and daughter of filmmakers Mohsen Makhmalbaf and fatemeh meshkini. She is known for her films, ''Joy of Madness'' (2003)'','' ''Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame'' (2007) and ''Green Days'' (2009). Makhmalbaf won the Lina Mangiacapre Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2003 for ''Joy of Madness'' (2003)''. Joy of Madness'' also won the Special Jury Prize at Tokyo Filmex. Makhmalbaf's film ''Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame'' won various awards as well, such as the Paolo Ungari UNICEF Prize from the Rome Film Festival and the Peace Film Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. Vesoul International Film Festival Of Asian Cinema
The Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema (French: Festival international des cinémas d'Asie) is an annual special-interest film festival focusing on the cinemas of Asia. The festival is held annually in Vesoul, France. It was created in 1995 by Martine and Jean-Marc Thérouanne who have been codirecting the festival since then. The highest award of the festival is the Golden Cyclo Award. Other awards include the Special Langues "O" Award, given by the French National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations and the Emile Guimet Award by the Friends Association of National Museum of Asian Arts-Guimet at the festival. In the 17th edition of the festival, which attracted an audience of 28,700, three awards were given to the Chinese film "Addicted to Love" by director Liu Hao. Iran Presidential Election, 2009
Presidential elections were held in Iran on 12 June 2009, with incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad running against three challengers. The next morning the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's news agency, announced that with two-thirds of the votes counted, Ahmadinejad had won the election with 62% of the votes cast, and that Mir-Hossein Mousavi had received 34% of the votes cast. There were large irregularities in the results and people were surprised by them, which resulted in protests of millions of Iranians, across every Iranian city and around the world and the emergence of the opposition Iranian Green Movement. is a Japanese manga series by Kazurou Inoue. It was published by Shogakukan in the magazine ''Weekly Shōnen Sunday'' from September 2002 to July 2004, with its chapters collected in eight ''tankōbon'' volumes. The manga was licensed in North America by Viz Media. The series follows Seiji Sawamura, who one day finds his right hand replaced with a girl named Midori Kasugano and his attempts to return her to her real body. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1951 and originally run in June, the festival has been held every February since 1978 and is one of the " Big Three" alongside the Venice Film Festival in Italy and the Cannes Film Festival in France.
