Han Kuangsi
Han Kuangsi (; 918–983) was a physician and minister of the Liao dynasty. He wrote ''The Epitaph of Han Kuangsi'' (韩匡嗣墓志), which was discovered in the Bairin Left Banner in 1995. Han Kuangsi served in Changle Palace (长乐宫). Empress Shulü Ping regarded him as her son. However he did not occupy a high position under Emperor Taizong and Emperor Muzong. Han later went to Emperor Taizu's memorial temple where he was examined and secured. Han also befriended Yelü Xian and later helped him to ascend to the throne as Emperor Jingzong. After this, Han was appointed as the Jiedu Envoy of the Shiping Army (始平军节度使). He also served him in Beijing and stayed in Nanjing as a Southwest secret envoy, also handling the Jinchang Army Jiedu Envoy (晋昌军节度使等). Han (Chinese Surname)
Han () is a common Chinese surname. The spelling "Han" is based on China's pinyin system and so used throughout Mainland China. Emperor Shengzong Of Liao
Emperor Shengzong of Liao (16 January 972 – 25 June 1031), personal name Wenshunu, sinicised name Yelü Longxu, was the sixth emperor of the Khitan-led Chinese Liao dynasty and its longest reigning monarch. Conflict with the Northern Song dynasty Emperor Shengzong succeeded his father, Emperor Jingzong, at the age of 12 in 982. As he was too young to rule at the time, his mother, Empress Dowager Xiao, became the regent. Emperor Taizong of the Northern Song dynasty sought to take advantage of the situation by launching an invasion on the Liao dynasty's southern capital (present-day Beijing) in the contentious Sixteen Prefectures in 986. The Song dynasty (; ; 960–1279) was an imperial dynasty of China that began in 960 and lasted until 1279. The dynasty was founded by Emperor Taizu of Song following his usurpation of the throne of the Later Zhou. Han Derang
Han Derang (; 941–1011), known for his Khitan name, Yelü Longyun (), Xingning (), or Yaoge () was a Chinese politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Liao Dynasty during the reign of Empress Xiao Chuo. He was a native of Hebei Yutian (祖籍河北玉田) and born into the Shihou Family. Early life Han Derang was born in 941 as the fourth son of Han Kuangsi, King of Qin (韓匡嗣 秦王) and Lady Xiao (蕭氏). However, his father died in Southwest Nanjing after he went there to meet an envoy. Yelü Sha
Yelü Sha (), courtesy name Anyin (安隱), of the Yelü clan (died 988) was a Khitan general and statesman in imperial China's Liao dynasty. He rose to the position of the chancellor of the southern government (南府宰相) during Emperor Muzong of Liao's reign. When Emperor Jingzong assumed power in 969, Yelü Sha was tasked to command the army on Liao's southern border for possible war against the Song dynasty. In 976, the Song army attacked Northern Han, a small kingdom wedged between Song and Liao, and Yelü Sha took the Liao troops to assist Northern Han until the Song army withdrew. He was promoted when he presented the Song prisoners to Emperor Jingzong.
