Hammarby Speedway
Hammarby IF Speedway was a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Stockholm, Sweden. The club has not been competing in the domestic leagues since 2016, after their home ground Gubbängens IP was demolished. Their biggest success was winning the bronze medal in Elitserien in 2007. Season summary History SMK Stockholm and Monarkerna SMK Stockholm were one of the seven inaugural members of the Swedish speedway league, which started during the 1948 Swedish speedway season. They raced at Hammarby IP, a ground based in Södermalm, an area Hammarby IF considers its heartland. In 1950, SMK Stockholm became Monarkerna (the Monarchs) and the team won the Swedish Speedway Team Championship in 1955 and 1956, with riders such as Olle Nygren and Ulf Ericsson. Hammarby IF
Hammarby Idrottsförening ("Hammarby Sports Club"), commonly known as Hammarby IF or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish sports club located in Stockholm, with a number of member organizations active in a variety of different sports. It was founded in 1889 as ''Hammarby Roddförening'' ("Hammarby Rowing Association"), but by 1897 the club had diversified and was participating in different sports, leading to the renaming to Hammarby IF. In 1999, the club was reorganized into a legal format referred to in Swedish as an ''alliansförening'' ("alliance association"), with each of the club's departments becoming a separate legal entity cooperating under the "Hammarby IF" umbrella. Freddie Eriksson
Freddie Ove Eriksson (born 23 April 1981 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career summary Eriksson began his British speedway career in 2001 with King’s Lynn with whom he had two relatively successful seasons scoring over 400 points in 71 appearances. In between he became the Swedish Under-21 Speedway Champion in 2002. In 2003, he joined Ipswich on loan late on in the season and made only 14 appearances. Eriksson’s parent club ( Oxford) recalled him for the end of the 2005 season but at the start of the 2006 season Eriksson was released after only 13 meetings. Eriksson started the 2007 season back at Oxford but once again he was unable to complete a full season in the UK after Oxford were forced to close down their Elite League team at the end of May due to financial problems. Tomasz Gollob
Tomasz Robert Gollob (; born 11 April 1971 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in every Speedway Grand Prix series between its inaugural season in 1995 and 2013. His brother Jacek is also a speedway rider. Career summary Tomasz Gollob spent almost all of his career with hometown club Bydgoszcz until he moved to Unia Tarnów in 2004. He has won the Polish Individual Championship eight times (between 1992 and 2009) and the Polish Pairs Championship ten times. He has also won the Polish Grand Prix eight times in thirteen years. He clinched the Speedway World Championship in 2010 after securing the championship in Terenzano, Italy. He is only the second Pole to ever win the World Championship, following in the footsteps of Jerzy Szczakiel who won in 1973. ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. History and profile The newspaper was founded by Lars Johan Hierta in December 1830 under the name of ''Aftonbladet i Stockholm'' during the modernization of Sweden. Often critical and oppositional, the paper was repeatedly banned from publishing. However, Hierta circumvented the bans by constantly reviving the paper under slightly modified names, as, legally speaking, a new publication. Nicki Pedersen
Nicki Pedersen (born 2 April 1977) is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the World Championship in 2003, 2007 and 2008 and was a World Cup winner with Denmark in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. His brother, Ronni Pedersen, has also ridden in the Speedway Grand Prix and World Cup. Career Domestic teams Pedersen began speedway racing aged 11 at Danish club Fjelsted. He started his Polish speedway career in 1999 with Polish second division club Start Gniezno and has since ridden for GTŻ Grudziądz, Wybrzeże Gdańsk, ZKŻ Zielona Góra and ŻKS ROW Rybnik. Between 2006 and 2007 he rode for Stal Rzeszów and since 2008 he has ridden for Włókniarz Częstochowa. Pedersen rides for Dackarna in the Swedish Elitserien, and Holsted in the Danish Super League.
