Hamari Betiyan
''Hamari Betiyan'' also called ''Our Darling Daughters'' is a 1936 social Hindi film directed by R. S. Chowdhary. It was produced by Ardeshir Irani under his Imperial Film Company banner. The film starred Rose, Kumar, Pramila, Mubarak, Jilloobai, Baba Vyas and Baby Shri. Rose co-starred with her cousin Pramila who had started acting in films from 1935 with Ardeshir Irani's Imperial Film Company's ''Return Of Toofan Mail'' (1935). The story of ''Hamari Betiyan'' is about the travails of Radha and her subsequent revenge against the people who caused her grief and anguish. Plot Radha (Rose) and Prince Madan (Kumar) are college mates who fall in love. Despite strong objection from his father the king (Baba Vyas), Madan marries Radha. Through the evil intrigues of Vasant (Pramila) and Lal Singh (Mubarak), Madan is cast out of the kingdom. Radha becomes blind and her husband abandons her. Ardeshir Irani
Khan Bahadur Ardeshir Irani (5 December 1886 – 14 October 1969) was a writer, director, producer, actor, film distributor, film showman and cinematographer in the silent and sound eras of early Indian cinema. He was the one of the greatest legend of today's Indian Cinema. He was the director of India's first sound film Alam Ara. He was the producer of India's first colour film Kisan Kanya. He was renowned for making films in Hindi, Telugu, English, German, Indonesian, Persian, Urdu and Tamil. He was a successful entrepreneur who owned film theatres, a gramophone agency, and a car agency. Life and career Ardeshir Irani was born into a Parsi Zoroastrian family on 5 December 1886 in Pune, Bombay Presidency. In 1905, Irani became the Indian representative of Universal Studios and he ran Alexander Cinema in Bombay with Abdulally Esoofally for over forty years. Kumar (actor)
Kumar (born Syed Ali Hasan Zaidi; 23 September 1903 – 4 June 1982), alternatively known as M. Kumar, was an Indian film producer and actor, who played character roles in Hindi cinema from early 1930s to early 1960s. He migrated to Pakistan in 1963. Personal life Kumar was born in an affluent family of Lucknow on 23 September 1903 and was fondly called "Mir Mujjan" at home. In 1939, Kumar married Jewish actress Esther Victoria Abraham popularly known as Pramila, who later went on to become the first Miss India in 1947. Before marrying her, Kumar already had a wife and children in Lucknow. In 1963, on the insistence of his extended family, Kumar left for Pakistan, much to the displeasure of his second wife, who decided to stay back in India. Like his wife, his daughter Naqi Jahan also became Miss India in 1967. Not much is known about the final decade of his life. Kumar breathed his last on 4 June 1982 aged 78. Rose Musleah (also known as Miss Rose; born: January 1, 1911 Calcutta, India - died: December 8, 1985, California, United States) was an Indian theater and film actress of Jewish origin who played in Tollywood. She acted in silent films at first and later in talkies. Remembered as the "dancer actress" of silent cinema. Her films dealt with conflicts between tradition and individual choice. Biography Rose Musleah was born in 1911 in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in British India, the only child of a Jewish family of Baghdadi origin. Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak, (; 4 May 1928 – 25 February 2020) was an Egyptian politician and military officer who served as the fourth president of Egypt from 1981 to 2011. Before he entered politics, Mubarak was a career officer in the Egyptian Air Force. He served as its commander from 1972 to 1975 and rose to the rank of air chief marshal in 1973.
