Halvor Egner Granerud
Halvor Egner Granerud (born 29 May 1996) is a Norwegian ski jumper. He is one of the most successful contemporary ski jumpers, having won 25 World Cup individual competitions, the World Cup overall title twice, and the Four Hills Tournament once. At the Nordic World Ski Championships, Granerud's best achievements include silver medals in the team and mixed team competitions. He has also won team gold and individual silver at the Ski Flying World Championships. Career Granerud made his Ski Jumping World Cup debut in 2015 and got his best result to win the World Cup event in Kuusamo/Ruka in November 2020. Granerud was part of the team that won the FIS Junior World Championship in 2015, together with Joacim Ødegård Bjøreng, Phillip Sjøen and Johann André Forfang. Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze
Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze ("Paul Ausserleitner Hill") was opened in 1947 as "Hochkönigsschanze", and re-built in 2004, and is a ski jumping venue in Bischofshofen, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski jumping World Cup, annually hosting the fourth and final competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. It was renamed after Paul Ausserleitner, an Austrian ski jumper who died of the consequences of a fall on this hill in January 1952. FIS Ski Flying World Championships
The FIS Ski Flying World Championships is a ski flying event organised by the International Ski Federation and held every two years. The event takes place on hills much larger than ski jumping hills, with the K-point set between and . Unlike ordinary ski jumping, the Ski Flying World Champion is determined after four jumps. 40 jumpers qualify for the competition and jump the first round, 10 are eliminated, and the 30 remaining jumpers compete in the last three rounds. The person with most points combined after four jumps is declared the World Champion. In 2004, the FIS introduced a team event between national teams of four jumpers, with two jumps each. 2018–19 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup
The 2018–19 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 40th FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, World Cup season in ski jumping for men, the 22nd official World Cup season in ski flying, and the 8th World Cup season for ladies. The season began on 17 November 2018 in Wisła for men and in Lillehammer for ladies; the season concluded on 24 March 2019 in Planica for men and in Chaykovsky, Perm Krai, Chaykovsky for ladies. The first edition of ladies' Raw Air was organized simultaneously with men's edition between 9–14 March 2019. Johann André Forfang
Johann André Forfang (born 4 July 1995) is a Norwegian ski jumper and 2018 team Olympic champion. Career Like his older brother Daniel Forfang he represents the club Tromsø SK. Forfang made his World Cup debut in December 2014. He won team gold medal FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2016 with his teammates in Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf. Joacim Ødegård Bjøreng (born 14 December 1995) is a Norwegian ski jumper. At the 2015 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships he finished seventh in the normal hill and won a gold medal in the team competition. He made his Continental Cup debut with a fourth place in December 2014 in Engelberg, and has won two events on the summer circuit; in August 2015 in Wisla and September 2016 in Lillehammer. Four Hills Tournament
The Four Hills Tournament (german: link=no, Vierschanzentournee) or the German-Austrian Ski Jumping Week (german: link=no, Deutsch-Österreichische Skisprung-Woche) is a ski jumping event composed of four World Cup events and has taken place in Germany and Austria each year since 1953. With few exceptions, it has consisted of the ski jumping events held at Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, in this order. The Four Hills Tournament champion is the one who gets the most points over the four events. The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is the world's highest level of ski jumping and the FIS Ski Flying World Cup as the subdivisional part of the competition. It was founded by Torbjørn Yggeseth for the 1979/80 season and organized by the International Ski Federation. Women began competing during the 2011/12 season. Ski Jumper
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines. The ski jumping venue, commonly referred to as a ''hill'', consists of the jumping ramp (''in-run''), take-off table, and a landing hill.
