Halton District School Board
The Halton District School Board serves public school students throughout Halton Region, including the municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. Its administration area is to the southwest of the city of Toronto. In 2006-2007, it served almost 50,000 students, excluding those in adult, alternative, and Community Education programs. History Education in the former Halton County was previously governed by a framework of boards for various high school districts and public school districts associated with them. In 1967, as a result of initiatives undertaken by then Minister of Education Bill Davis, work was begun to amalgamate all boards on a county-wide level throughout the Province, and such a move was recommended to the Halton County Council that year for its approval. Burlington is a city in the Regional Municipality of Halton at the northwestern end of Lake Ontario in Ontario, Canada. Along with Milton to the north, it forms the western end of the Greater Toronto Area and is also part of the Hamilton metropolitan census area. Oakville Trafalgar High School (OTHS, often referred to as OT) is a secondary school located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The school receives most of its students from nearby feeder schools, including Maple Grove Public School, École EJ James, St Luke's Catholic Elementary School, St. Vincent's Catholic Elementary School and James W. IB Diploma Programme
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year educational programme primarily aimed at 16-to-19-year-olds in 140 countries around the world. The programme provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide. It was developed in the early-to-mid-1960s in Geneva, Switzerland, by a group of international educators. After a six-year pilot programme that ended in 1975, a bilingual diploma was established. Robert Bateman High School (also known as Robert Bateman, or Bateman) operated in Burlington, Ontario, Canada from 1970 to 2020. The school was part of the Halton District School Board, and was established as Lord Elgin High School. Nelson High School of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, is located in Burlington's South Central area and serves approximately 1392 (2022) students between grades 9 and 12 in the Halton District School Board. Basic information It was established in 1957 at the intersection of New Street and Belvenia Road. Burlington Central High School
Burlington Central High School is a public middle school and high school in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, in the Halton District School Board. Enrollment was 686 students in September 2008. The current school building was constructed in 1922 and has been added to extensively over the years. The last major addition was made in the 1965, which added a new technical wing and gymnasiums. In 2012 the auditorium was upgraded with new seats and equipment. The school raised funds through community donations and fundraisers. Originally called "Burlington High School", it is the oldest operating high school in Burlington. The longest serving principal, J. M. Bates, started at the school in 1929 and served until 1964. Aldershot High School
Aldershot School is a grade 7–12 school located in Burlington, Ontario. Although the current school building was constructed in 1959-1960, the original Aldershot School was built in 1870, making the name the oldest in continual use for an educational institution in Halton region. Originally a high school (grades 9-13, later cut back to grade 12), grades 7 and 8 were added in 2001 to make use of spare capacity. The school's enrollment is 464 students as of 2017. Milton District High School
Milton District High School (MDHS) is a public secondary school located in Milton, Ontario, Canada. MDHS, which is commonly referred to as M.D. by locals, is part of the Halton District School Board, and educates approximately 1800 students. The school opened in 1960, before which time secondary school students in town had attended the Milton High School on Martin Street.
