Milton District High School
Milton District High School (MDHS) is a public secondary school located in Milton, Ontario, Canada. MDHS, which is commonly referred to as M.D. by locals, is part of the Halton District School Board, and educates approximately 1800 students. The school opened in 1960, before which time secondary school students in town had attended the Milton High School on Martin Street. When the new high school opened, grade 10 to 12 students were transferred there, and Martin Street Schoobecame a high school, serving students in grade 9 only. MDHS remained the only secondary school in Milton until E.C. Drury High Schooopened in 1980, followed by Bishop P. F. Reding Catholic Secondary Schooin 1986. Mark Saunders (police Chief)
Mark Saunders (born 1962) is a Canadian politician and retired police officer who served as chief of police with the Toronto Police Service (TPS) from April 26, 2015 to July 31, 2020. Saunders announced he intends to run for mayor of Toronto in the 2023 by-election. He was the Progressive Conservative (PC) candidate in Don Valley West in the 2022 Ontario election. Kyle John Solomon Alexander (born October 21, 1996) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League and EuroCup. He played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers. Nick Hector is a British Canadian film producer and editor, and professor of film production at the University of Windsor. Bruce Hood (ice Hockey)
Bruce Melvin Hood (March 14, 1936 – January 5, 2018) was a Canadian author, businessman, politician, and a professional ice hockey referee in the National Hockey League (NHL). Early life Hood was born in Campbellville, Ontario, Canada (now part of the Town of Milton) on March 14, 1936, and moved into Milton in 1947. Peter Arnold McDuffe (born February 16, 1948) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender who played for the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, Kansas City Scouts and Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Indianapolis Racers in the World Hockey Association (WHA) between 1971 and 1978. John Alexander Tonelli (born March 23, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward from Milton, Ontario. He was a four-time Stanley Cup champion with the New York Islanders, and also played with the Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Quebec Nordiques of the National Hockey League. Chris Austin Hadfield (born August 29, 1959) is a Canadian retired astronaut, engineer, fighter pilot, and musician.
