Navesti (river)
The Navesti (also known as Pala or Paala) is a -long-river in southwestern Estonia. It is the largest river by discharge that empties into the Pärnu (river), Pärnu (in its mouth the discharge is almost equal as Pärnu's). The source of the Navesti is near Imavere, Järva County, Imavere (between the villages of Jalametsa and Käsukonna) in Järva County. It flows generally west, and passes through three counties (Järva County, Järva, Viljandi County, Viljandi and Pärnu County, Pärnu). Viljandi County
Viljandi County ( et, Viljandi maakond or ''Viljandimaa''; german: Kreis Fellin) is one of 15 counties of Estonia. It is located in southern Estonia bordering Pärnu, Järva, Jõgeva, Tartu and Valga counties. History Viljandimaa, under the German name of ''Kreis Fellin'', was an important centre of commerce and power in the Middle Ages. Today, there are numerous castle ruins there dating from that time. Soomaa National Park is a national park located partially within Viljandi County, Estonia. Soomaa ("land of bogs") protects 390 km2, and is a Ramsar site of protected wetlands. Navesti
Navesti is a village in Põhja-Sakala Parish, Viljandi County in central Estonia. It is located on the road between the towns of Võhma and Suure-Jaani, about 6 km from each, where the road crosses the Navesti River. Navesti village has a population of 98 (as of 1 January 2012) and an area of 12.54 km². The Türi–Viljandi railway passes through the village on its eastern side. The nearest station is in the small borough of Olustvere about 4 km southeast. Navesti was first mentioned in 1599 as ''Navosth'' when the Navesti Manor belonged under the Pärsti Manor. In 1622 the Swedish king Gustav II Adolph gifted both manors to the brothers Casper, Fabian and Michael Engelhardt family, Engelhardts.
