Józef Haller
Józef Haller von Hallenburg (13 August 1873 – 4 June 1960) was a lieutenant general of the Polish Army, a legionary in the Polish Legions, harcmistrz (the highest Scouting instructor rank in Poland), the president of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP), and a political and social activist. He was the cousin of StanisÅ‚aw Haller. Haller was born in Jurczyce. He studied at Vienna's Technical Military Academy and subsequently (1895–1906) served with the Austrian Army, resigning after reaching the rank of captain. He supported the paramilitary pro-independence Polish organization Sokół. In 1916, during the First World War, he became commander of the Second Brigade of the Polish Legion, in particular the units which fought against Russia on the Eastern Front. Albrecht von Haller (also known as Albertus de Haller; 16 October 170812 December 1777) was a Swiss anatomist, physiologist, naturalist, encyclopedist, bibliographer and poet. Nicolaus Ferdinand Haller (21 January 1805 in Hamburg – 10 October 1876 in Hamburg) was a jurist, senator and First Mayor of Hamburg and head of state from 1863 to 1864; 1866 to 1867; 1870 to 1873. Family The Haller family was one of the 50 Jewish families expelled from Vienna whom the Great Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg (reign 1640–1688) granted asylum in his realm. Johannes Evangelist Haller
Johannes Evangelist Haller (30 April 1825 – 5 May 1900) was an Austrian-Hungarian prelate of the Catholic Church who was Archbishop of Salzburg from 1890 until his death. He was made a cardinal in 1896. Biography Johannes Evangelist Haller was born on 30 April 1825 in St. Martin in Passeier in the South Tyrol, then within the Austria-Hungarian Empire and now in Italy. His father was a farmer. He went to school in Meran and Innsbruck and studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Trento. On 21 May 1848 he was ordained a priest in Trento. He earned a doctorate in theology and worked as chaplain and parish vicar until 1860 when he became a chaplain at Säben Abbey. He was later pastor in Laion. Johann Haller
Johann Haller or Jan Haller (1463–1525) is considered one of the first commercial printers in Poland. Early life Haller was born in Rothenburg, Franconia, Germany. After his studies at the Kraków Academy, Haller became a merchant in wine, copper and tin. Printing activity Haller' merchant activity enabled him to engage, at a later time, in the production of printing elements and finally establishing a printing press in Kraków. His first printing products were almanacs, followed by a breviary for the clergy. Haller acquired a partial monopoly on them, thereby protecting himself from competition. He soon expanded his business to include scientific and scholarly books in astronomy, mathematics, philosophy and law, as well as royal and church statutes. Altogether Haller produced 3,530 prints. Martin Emil Ferdinand Haller (1835–1925) was a German architect, who designed the Hamburg Rathaus and the building of the Consulate General of the United States in Hamburg, and a member of the Hamburg Parliament. Berthold Haller
Berchtold Haller (c. 149225 February 1536) was a German Protestant reformer. He was the reformer of the city of Bern, Switzerland, where the Reformation received little to none opposition. Haller was born at Aldingen in Württemberg. After schooling in Pforzheim, where he established a friendship with Philipp Melanchthon, he studied theology in Cologne. He became a teacher in Rottweil in 1510 and in Bern in 1513, where he was appointed assistant preacher at the church of St Vincent in 1515. In 1520 he became a canon and the people's priest.
