is a microgenre of pop music or a general aesthetic that flourished in Japan in the mid-to late 1990s. The music genre is distinguished by a "cut-and-paste" approach that was inspired by the kitsch, fusion, and artifice from certain music styles of the past. The most common reference points were 1960s culture and Western pop music, especially the work of Burt Bacharach, Brian Wilson, Phil Spector, and Serge Gainsbourg. Shibuya-kei first emerged as retail music from the Shibuya district of Tokyo. Plus-Tech Squeeze Box are a Japanese electronic music/shibuya-kei duo formed by Tomonori Hayashibe and Takeshi Wakiya. The frenetic sound of their first album '' FAKEVOX'' (2000) is driven by rudimentary synthesized sounds and heavily manipulated samples from a variety of sources, including jazz, big band, light music, MOR, and funk recordings ranging from the late-50s to the mid-70s. Junko Kamada provides vocals throughout the album. Their second album, ''CARTOOOM!'', was released in 2004. Junko Kamada is conspicuously absent, having parted ways with the band. Calum Thomas Bowen (born 26 February 1991), also known professionally as Bo En (stylized as bo en), is an English musician and video game producer based in London. Career Bowen released his debut album titled ''Pale Machine'' in 2013. In 2014, Bowen's remix of "My Party" by Kero Kero Bonito was featured on their ''Bonito Recycling'' EP. Video game composing Bowen composed the soundtrack for the 2014 game '' Lovely Planet''.
