Halang Island
Halang Island or Pulau Halang ( id, Pulau Halang, literally "obstructing island"), is an island in Rokan Hilir, Riau, Indonesia. It has two fishing villages; Front Island (Pulau Halang Depan) and Back Island (Pulau Halang Belakang), both mostly inhabited by Hokkien people who originated from Cin-kang Fujian Province in China. It is located in the mouth of Delta Rokan River. Pulau Halang can be reached from Bagansiapiapi by speedboat in about one hour. Festival There are two annual festivals each year: one the 18th of the fourth month on Front Island, and another on the 16th of the sixth month on Behind Island (Chinese Lunar Lunar most commonly means "of or relating to the Moon". Halang Language
Halang, also known as Salang, is a Bahnaric language of the Mon–Khmer branch of the Austroasiatic language family. It is spoken in the southern Laotian province of Attapu by approximately 4,000 people and in the neighboring Kon Tum Province of Vietnam by approximately 13,000 people. A barangay (; abbreviated as Brgy. or Bgy.), historically referred to as barrio (abbreviated as Bo.), is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines and is the native Filipino term for a village, district, or ward.
