Hailey Birnie
Hailey Dawn Birnie (born July 11, 1982) is a Canadian curler and actress from Whitehorse, Yukon. She currently skips her own team out of the Whitehorse Curling Club. Curling career While in juniors, Birnie made four appearances at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001, all as second for Nicole Baldwin. In their first two appearances, the team posted their best records, finishing 6–6 in both 1998 and 1999. Their worst performance came in 2000 where they went 3–9, finishing in twelfth place. Their final showing in 2001 saw them finish in ninth with a 5–7 record. Birnie's next curling success wouldn't come until 2019 when she won the Yukon Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Her team, with skip Nicole Baldwin, second Ladene Shaw and lead Helen Strong represented the Yukon at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Whitehorse
Whitehorse () is the capital of Yukon, and the largest city in Northern Canada. It was incorporated in 1950 and is located at kilometre 1426 (Historic Mile 918) on the Alaska Highway in southern Yukon. 2022 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship, was held from January 28 to February 6 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The winning team represented Canada at the 2022 World Women's Curling Championship at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Ontario public health orders, the tournament was held behind closed doors with no public spectators for the second season in a row. As Ontario began to permit a maximum capacity of 500 spectators at indoor sporting events beginning January 31, Curling Canada explored admitting limited public spectators for the playoff draws, but ultimately decided against doing so. Kerry Galusha (born Kerry Koe on November 3, 1977) is a Canadian curler. She currently skips her team out of the Yellowknife Curling Club in Yellowknife. Career Juniors Galusha's first national experience was at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She was the fifth player for Janet Sian. The team would finish in eleventh place with a 2-9 record. She would return to the junior championships again in 1993, this time playing third stones for Tara Hamer. The team would finish in tenth place with a 2-9 record. The team would return again in 1994, finishing with a 5-6 record.
