Haiduan Township () is a mountain indigenous township in Taitung County, Taiwan. It has an area of 880.0382 km2, with a population of 4,224 as of February 2023. The main population is the Bunun people of the Taiwanese aborigines. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. Xiangyang National Forest Recreation Area () is a forest in Lidao Village, Haiduan Township, Taitung County, Taiwan. Geography The forest is located at an altitude of 2,320―2,700 meters above sea level and spans over an area of 362 hectares. It has an annual average temperature of 11.4°C. The main vegetations of the forest are pine trees, masters pine trees and red cypress trees. Architecture The forest consists of four trails, which are Xiangyang Trail, Songjing Trail, Xiangsong Trail and Songtao Trail. Two of the trails are connected to Jiaminghu National Trail. The Lisong Hot Spring () is a hot spring in Haiduan Township, Taitung County, Taiwan. Geology The hot spring is located 1,075 meters above sea level. The hot spring came out from the holes of stone slopes forming waterfalls located in a deep river valley. Transportation The hot spring is accessible on foot from the Southern Cross-Island Highway.
