Hahn (crater)
Hahn is a lunar impact crater that is located near the northeastern limb of the Moon. The crater appears oval when viewed from the Earth due to foreshortening. It is located less than one crater diameter to the southeast of Berosus, a slightly smaller formation. The inner wall of Hahn contains a system of terraces, particularly in the southern half. A smaller crater lies across the northwest rim, forming a break that reaches the interior floor. The interior floor has a region of lower albedo Albedo (; ) is the measure of the diffuse reflection of solar radiation out of the total solar radiation and measured on a scale from 0, corresponding to a black body that absorbs all incident radiation, to 1, corresponding to a body that refl ... in the northern half, making it darker in appearance than the southern section of the floor. At the midpoint of the interior is an elongated central ridge, with the longer extent oriented north–south. The floor is also marked by several ti ...

Functional Analysis
Functional analysis is a branch of mathematical analysis, the core of which is formed by the study of vector spaces endowed with some kind of limit-related structure (e.g. Inner product space#Definition, inner product, Norm (mathematics)#Definition, norm, Topological space#Definition, topology, etc.) and the linear transformation, linear functions defined on these spaces and respecting these structures in a suitable sense. The historical roots of functional analysis lie in the study of function space, spaces of functions and the formulation of properties of transformations of functions such as the Fourier transform as transformations defining continuous function, continuous, unitary operator, unitary etc. operators between function spaces. This point of view turned out to be particularly useful for the study of differential equations, differential and integral equations. The usage of the word ''functional (mathematics), functional'' as a noun goes back to the calculus of variati ...

Hahn–Banach Theorem
The Hahn–Banach theorem is a central tool in functional analysis. It allows the extension of bounded linear functionals defined on a subspace of some vector space to the whole space, and it also shows that there are "enough" continuous linear functionals defined on every normed vector space to make the study of the dual space "interesting". Another version of the Hahn–Banach theorem is known as the Hahn–Banach separation theorem or the hyperplane separation theorem, and has numerous uses in convex geometry. History The theorem is named for the mathematicians Hans Hahn and Stefan Banach, who proved it independently in the late 1920s. The special case of the theorem for the space C[a, b] of continuous functions on an interval was proved earlier (in 1912) by Eduard Helly, and a more general extension theorem, the M. Riesz extension theorem, from which the Hahn–Banach theorem can be derived, was proved in 1923 by Marcel Riesz. The first Hahn–Banach theorem was proved by ...

Hahn Series
In mathematics, Hahn series (sometimes also known as Hahn–Mal'cev–Neumann series) are a type of formal infinite series. They are a generalization of Puiseux series (themselves a generalization of formal power series) and were first introduced by Hans Hahn in 1907 (and then further generalized by Anatoly Maltsev and Bernhard Neumann to a non-commutative setting). They allow for arbitrary exponents of the indeterminate so long as the set supporting them forms a well-ordered subset of the value group (typically \mathbb or \mathbb). Hahn series were first introduced, as groups, in the course of the proof of the Hahn embedding theorem and then studied by him in relation to Hilbert's second problem. Von Hahn
The House of Hahn (originally Hane and Hanen) is an ancient German-Baltic noble family which was prominent in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia and on the Baltic Island Ösel. It was founded in 1230. It is also part of the old Mecklenburg noble family, first mentioned on October 30th, 1230. The Mecklenburg clan branched out at the turn of the 14th century into a Mecklenburg and a Courland clan. Later, the family carried the title Baron or Baron (Baroness, Baroness, Freifrau, Freiin). Ludolf Hahn (around 1300) is mentioned as the ancestor of the Baltic lines, whose descendants later established their residence with Heinrich von Hahn (around 1518) in Postenden near Talsen. Johann August von Hahn (around 1725 - 1799) descended from the Saaremaa von Hahns. Both family lines carried the same coat of arms. Origins The origin of the name and the family is not clear. The first Hahn, with whom this coat of arms is associated, is mentioned in the historical annals as Eckhard I, or "E ...

Ida, Countess Von Hahn-Hahn
Countess Ida von Hahn-Hahn (german: link=no, Ida Gräfin von Hahn-Hahn; 22 June 1805 – 12 January 1880) was a German author from a wealthy family who lost their fortune because of her father's eccentric spending. She defied convention by living with Adolf von Bystram unmarried for 21 years. Her writings about the German aristocracy were greatly favored by the general public of her time. Ida von Hahn-Hahn often wrote about the tragedies of the soul and was influenced by the French novelist George Sand. She "was an indefatigable campaigner for the emancipation of women" and her writings include many strong female characters. Biography She was born at Tressow, in the duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. She was the daughter of Count (1782 – 21 May 1857 Altona) of the von Hahn family, who was well known for his enthusiasm for stage productions, upon which he squandered a large portion of his fortune. In his old age, he was obliged to support himself by managing a provincial company ...

Hahn Brewery
Hahn Brewery is a brewery that was established by Dr Charles Hahn in 1988 at an old factory site in the suburb of Camperdown in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was originally a brewer of premium beers, including Hahn Premium and Hahn Premium Light. The 1991 recession resulted in reduced demand, and forced a rethink of this policy. A more mainstream beer called Sydney Bitter was produced, with reasonable success. It has launched two new beers since then: Hahn Super Dry in 2006 and Hahn Super Dry 3.5 in 2009. In 1993 the brewery was purchased by Australia's second largest brewer Lion Hahn was appointed as the Chief Brewer of Lion Co which, at the time, operated eight breweries in Australia and New Zealand and two in China. Production of Hahn beers was moved to the Tooheys brewery in Auburn. The Camperdown brewery itself was renamed to the Malt Shovel Brewery in honour of the 1st fleet convict turned Australia's first brewer, James Squire. To this day, Hahn still ...

Hahn (Holzhausen)
The Hahn is a -high basalt knoll in the district of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, within the town of Edermünde-Holzhausen, in Hesse, Germany. Like many other basalt outcrops in the West Hesse Depression, it is the neck of an extinct Miocene volcano, the rest has been eroded. A small medieval tower castle once stood on the hill. Location The knoll is located directly north of the town centre of Holzhausen. For this reason the town is often known as Holzhausen am Hahn (engl. Holzhausen on the Hahn). The Pilgerbach stream flows around the southern edge of the Hahn. On the eastern side there is a football field. To the west, the Autobahn A49 passes by. History of the Tower Count Werner IV von Grüningen (1060-1121), who founded the Benedictine Monastery of Breitenau near Guxhagen in 1113, built a tower castle around 1100 on the Hahn. The castle is first mentioned in documents in 1111. It probably consisted of a tower castle on top of the hill, with further fortification on the lowe ...
