Hackenberg, Vienna
The Hackenberg is a hill in the suburb of Sievering in the 19th district of Vienna, Döbling. It is 306 metres tall. Hackenberg is covered in sand and gravel. The Arbesbach flows around the hill's north-eastern flank, while the Krottenbach flows around its south-western flank, although both rivers have been enclosed in canals in this area. The hill extends as far as the Krim (an area in Unterdöbling) in the west. Sievering
Sievering is a suburb of Vienna and part of Döbling, the 19th district of Vienna. Sievering was created in 1892 out of the two erstwhile independent suburbs Untersievering and Obersievering. These still exist as Katastralgemeinden. For many years it was home to the Sievering Studios, one of Austria's leading film studios. Geography Sievering arose on the banks of the Arbesbach, Vienna, Arbesbach. The more modern distinction between Obersievering and Untersievering coincides with the route of this stream; Obersievering (Upper Sievering) lies between the Schenkenberg, Vienna, Schenkenberg and Hackenberg, Vienna, Hackenberg and therefore upstream of Untersievering (Lower Sievering), which lies to the south of the Meiselberg. Gravel is a loose aggregation of rock fragments. Gravel occurs naturally throughout the world as a result of sedimentary and erosive geologic processes; it is also produced in large quantities commercially as crushed stone. Unterdöbling
Unterdöbling (Central Bavarian: ''Untadöbling'') was an independent municipality until 1892 and is today a part of Döbling, the 19th district of Vienna. It is also one of the 89 Katastralgemeinden. Geography The Katastralgemeinde Unterdöbling lies in Döbling, the 19th district of Vienna, to the north of Oberdöbling. The border between Unterdöbling and Oberdöbling is largely determined by the Krottenbach, a stream which today serves as a canal. The medieval town centre lay in a dip by the stream, where nowadays the Rudolfinergasse and the Nußwaldgasse (which used to be called the Herrengasse) lie. Rudolph I Of Bohemia
Rudolf I ( – 3/4 July 1307), Rudolf of Habsburg, was a member of the House of Habsburg, the King of Bohemia and titular King of Poland from 1306 until his death. He was also Duke of Austria and Styria from 1298. Early life Rudolf was the eldest son of Duke Albert I of Austria and his wife Elizabeth of Gorizia-Tyrol, thereby the grandson of King Rudolf I of Germany. After lengthy struggles with Adolf of Nassau, his father was elected King of Germany in 1298 and vested sixteen-year-old Rudolf as a co-ruler with the Austrian hereditary lands of the Habsburg dynasty. Vienna Woods
The Vienna Woods (german: Wienerwald) are forested highlands that form the northeastern foothills of the Northern Limestone Alps in the states of Lower Austria and Vienna. The and range of hills is heavily wooded and a popular recreation area with the Viennese.
