HNoMS Tyr (N50)
HNoMS ''Tyr'' was a mine control vessel used for underwater search and recovery by the Royal Norwegian Navy. It was decommissioned in 2014 and sold to private owners. History ''Tyr'' was built at Voldnes Skipsverft in 1981 and was used as an offshore standby-ship in the North Sea under the name MS ''Standby Master'', yard number 31. The Royal Norwegian Navy took her over in December 1993, and ''Tyr'' went through a comprehensive rebuilding and modernization program between 1994 and February 1995 at the Mjellem & Karlsen shipyard in Bergen. Under the rebuilding ''Tyr'' was equipped with new thrusters, the bridge was expanded and a mine hangar was built on the aft-deck, and new hydraulic equipment was installed on the work-deck. ( se, Hárstták) is the second-most populated municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is mostly located on the large island of Hinnøya. Battles Of Narvik
The Battles of Narvik were fought from 9 April to 8 June 1940, as a naval battle in the Ofotfjord and as a land battle in the mountains surrounding the north Norwegian town of Narvik, as part of the Norwegian Campaign of the Second World War. The two naval battles in the Ofotfjord on 10 April and 13 April were fought between the British Royal Navy and Nazi Germany '' Kriegsmarine'', while the two-month land campaign was fought between Norwegian, French, British, and Polish troops against German mountain troops, shipwrecked Kriegsmarine sailors and German paratroopers (''Fallschirmjäger'') from the 7th Air Division. HMS Hunter (H35)
HMS ''Hunter'' was a H-class destroyer built for the Royal Navy in the mid-1930s. During the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939 the ship enforced the arms blockade imposed on both sides by Britain and France, until she struck a mine in May 1937. She was under repair for the next year and a half, after which she rejoined the Mediterranean Fleet. During the first few months of the Second World War, ''Hunter'' searched for German commerce raiders in the Atlantic Ocean until she was transferred back to Britain in February 1940. Vestfjorden (Norway)
Vestfjorden is a long fjord or oceanic sea in Nordland county, Norway. The name literally means "the west fjord", although it is called a fjord, it could best be described as a firth or an open bight (geography), bight of sea. MS ''Chrobry'' was a transatlantic passenger liner, and was the last pre-war new build for the Polish Merchant Navy. She was built for the ''Gdynia-Ameryka Linie Żeglugowe S.A.'' Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke.
