HMS Saker
HMS ''Saker'', also known as HMS ''Saker I'', HMS ''Saker II'' and HMS ''Saker III'', has historically been the ship to which Royal Naval personnel serving in the United States of America are assigned. Consequently, it is a stone frigate, and has existed at several different locations since the Second World War. The first mention of the ship is at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, as a Royal Naval Air Station. Before the war, it was a Royal Canadian Air Force station known as . It was commissioned under the name ''Saker'' (or possibly ''Saker II'') on 1 October 1941, and paid off on 1 August 1942, being relieved by HMS ''Canada'' once more. Saker Falcon
The saker falcon (''Falco cherrug'') is a large species of falcon. This species breeds from central Europe eastwards across the Palearctic to Manchuria. It is mainly migratory except in the southernmost parts of its range, wintering in Ethiopia, the Arabian peninsula, northern Pakistan and western China. The saker falcon is the national bird of Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia. Taxonomy and systematics This species belongs to the close-knit hierofalcon complex. Auburn/Lewiston Municipal Airport
Auburn-Lewiston Airport is a public airport in Androscoggin County, Maine, opened in 1935. It is five miles southwest of the cities of Auburn and Lewiston, both of which own and operate the airport, though it is in the Auburn city limits. The airport is not served by any commercial airline, but is served by several charter airlines. The airport was the site of a Bar Harbor Airlines accident that killed "America's Youngest Ambassador" Samantha Smith. Naval Air Station Brunswick , also known as NAS Brunswick, was a military airport located southeast of Brunswick, Maine, with a number of Navy-operated maritime patrol aircraft. A stone frigate is a naval establishment on land. "Stone frigate" is an informal term that has its origin in Britain's Royal Navy after its use of Diamond Rock, an island off Martinique, as a ' sloop of war' to harass the French in 1803–04. The Royal Navy was prohibited from ruling over land, so the land was commissioned as a ship. The command of this first stone frigate was given to Commodore Hood's first lieutenant, James Wilkes Maurice, who, with cannon taken off the Commodore's ship, manned it with a crew of 120 until its capture by the French in the Battle of Diamond Rock in 1805.
