HKA Test
The HKA Test, named after Richard R. Hudson, Martin Kreitman, and Montserrat Aguadé, is a statistical test used in genetics to evaluate the predictions of the Neutral Theory of molecular evolution. By comparing the polymorphism within each species and the divergence observed between two species at two or more loci, the test can determine whether the observed difference is likely due to neutral evolution or rather due to adaptive evolution. Developed in 1987, the HKA test is a precursor to the McDonald-Kreitman test, which was derived in 1991. Blytheville Municipal Airport
Blytheville Municipal Airport (also called Wallace Thomas Field) is a public use airport located three nautical miles (4 mi, 6 km) east of the central business district of Blytheville, in Mississippi County, Arkansas, United States. It is owned by the City of Blytheville. This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a '' general aviation'' facility. History The Blytheville Municipal Airport was constructed in 1959 to replace the city's former municipal airport, which was sold to the US Air Force to be turned into Blytheville Air Force Base. Henryka Beyer
Henryka Beyer (7 March 1782 – 24 October 1855) was a German painter active in Poland. She was the youngest sister of Wilhelm Henryk Minter, an architect. Life and career Born in Szczecin, Beyer was initially taught by local painter Petera Schmidta. In 1805, she moved to Berlin with her brother Charles Frederick and studied under the Director of the KPM (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur), Gottfried Wilhelm Volker. In 1811, Beyer moved to Warsaw, where she was trained by Antoni Brodowski. In 1813, she married the director of the Warsaw lottery John Gottlieb Wilhelm Beyer, converting from the Lutheranism, Lutheran faith to Calvinism. They had three sons; the youngest, Charles Adolf, was born in 1818. Widowed the next year in 1819, Beyer had to maintain her sons and in 1824 in Warsaw opened a school of painting and drawing for women. She ran it until 1835. Hong Kong Academy (HKA, ) is a non-profit independent international co-educational day school for students ages 3–18 in Hong Kong. The school was founded in 2000 by Teresa Richman and Ben Frankel. The middle school was added in September 2006 and in 2007 the board approved the inclusion of a high school programme that began in 2008/9 academic year. Hong Kong Airways was a flag carrier of British Hong Kong during the late 1940s and 1950s. Context of launch In 1946 Jardine Air Maintenance Company (JAMCo) had been formed to serve the rapidly expanding portfolio of airlines serving Hong Kong and Jardine Airways was formed as the general sales agent in Hong Kong and China of BOAC and other carriers. HKA was formed in 1947, by BOAC and Jardine, Matheson & Co.(怡和). Jardines wanted to develop a Hong Kong carrier with the support of a British government backed enterprise. BOAC wanted to create a feeder carrier to transport passengers from their London to Hong Kong service to onward destinations in China and the Far East.
