Hong Kong Academy
Hong Kong Academy (HKA, ) is a non-profit independent international co-educational day school for students ages 3–18 in Hong Kong. The school was founded in 2000 by Teresa Richman and Ben Frankel. The middle school was added in September 2006 and in 2007 the board approved the inclusion of a high school programme that began in 2008/9 academic year. HKA graduated its first IB Diploma cohort in May 2012. Campus The campus was located in Wan Chai and Kennedy Town. In August 2013 the school moved to its new permanent site in Sai Kung. The Sai Kung Campus was awarded the Gold BEAM Plus certificate by Hong Kong Green Building Council for its environmentally friendly design. A green building council (GBC) is any national non-profit, non-government organization that is part of a global network recognized by the World Green Building Council. A green building council's goal is to promote a transformation of the built environment towards one that is sustainable (buildings and cities that are environmentally sensitive, economically viable, socially just and culturally significant). Sai Kung Town () or simply Sai Kung () is a town on the Sai Kung Peninsula, facing Sai Kung Hoi (Inner Port Shelter), part of Sai Kung District in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Kennedy Town
Kennedy Town is at the western end of Sai Wan on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It was named after Arthur Edward Kennedy, the 7th Governor of Hong Kong from 1872 to 1877. Wan Chai is situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong.
